Today marks the first day of Sheffield by the Seaside 🥳🥳

Every day until the 29th August, you can head into the town centre and play in the sand and water for free. It’s a great way to spend a day out with the kids during the school holidays.

Our vans will be both at the Peace Gardens and on Fargate everyday throughout the holidays, what trip to the Seaside is complete without an Ice Cream? 🍦

Sheffield returns to the seaside in one month!

Grab your buckets and spades as Sheffield by the Seaside is back on the Peace Gardens this summer from 23 July to 29 August.

Get ready for a month of family fun as the city centre transforms with real sand, lively entertainment and a vibrant holiday atmosphere.

The fun continues along Fargate, where visitors can enjoy classic fairground rides, including Dodgems and a vintage carousel.

‼️🚨 HOT WEATHER ALERT 🚨 ‼️

This week we’re forecast near 30 degree temperatures once again. When the weather is this hot, we receive an unprecedented amount of last minute enquiries and we absolutely hate to let people down.

If you have any enquiries at all for this week or next as the weather picks up, please please send them over as soon as possible. We’re incredibly busy when the temperatures sore so high and sometimes messages can get missed or we become fully booked and have to say no.

Whilst this weather is great for everyone in our industry, please bear in mind we are working round the clock to serve you all a cool down treat. The ice cream machine, slush machine, coffee machine all throw out hot air and the glass has an almost greenhouse effect, making it incredibly hot inside our vans. That being said, we’re doing everything we can to cool everyone else down.

We’re super busy this week, and we’re incredibly grateful for all of our customers all year round, but please just be patient with our staff as they are working in extremely hot conditions.

We hope you all continue to enjoy this weather and pay us a visit before it ends 🥰🍦

Our third event of the weekend ‼️⬇️

Today we’ll be at Nether Edge Farmers Market 😊

We’ve heard amazing things about this event and the weather looks set to be dry, which is always a bonus 🤣

If you’re looking for something to do today, we’ll be here as well as the Quayside market and Fox Valleys anniversary party. All 3 are free events for the whole family so get yourselves out today and make the most of the dry weather 🍦

We’re also at our usual Town Centre and Rivellin sites today if you don’t fancy an event.

The next Nether Edge market will be held on Sunday 14 June 2026, from 12:00 to 16:00. This summer community event will host approximately 70-80 stalls selling an excellent range of local produce, including hot and cold foods, drinks, and arts and crafts.

Local Nether Edge shops and businesses will open, including: Oxfam, Zeds Wholefoods, Kollective Kitchen, St Luke's Boutique, Bench (Bistro food and wine), Nether Edge Bowling Club, The Byron pub and Cafe #9.

Market Entertainment Programme (specific times and performances may change):

- 12:00: Salvation Army Band
- 12:30: Nether Edge School Choir
- 13:15: Scoil Rince Nua (Irish Dancers)
- 14:00: Sheffield City Morris Dancers (2 teams)
- 15:00: Spectrum Theatre Choir
Stall fee proceeds from this market will be donated to the following beneficiaries:

1) Spectrum Theatre
Spectrum Theatre provides performance arts workshops and productions for those on the autistic spectrum within a theatre company with members not on the spectrum. We perform in a variety of venues, e.g., universities, schools and theatres. One of our aims is to enhance the public's understanding of autism.

2) Snowdrop Project
The Snowdrop Project is a Sheffield-based charity which supports and empowers survivors of modern slavery and exploitation in South Yorkshire to recover from their pasts and rebuild their futures.

Please note that Nether Edge Road (between Sheldon Road and Byron Road) and Glen Road (between Nether Edge Road and Ashland Road) will be closed to traffic from 09:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 14 June 2026. If you usually park in this area, we kindly request that you find an alternative space. Parked cars may not be moved whilst the market is in progress.

There is a fee of £60 for stalls selling food produce or £45 for non-food stalls. Alternatively, we provide the option to apply for a shared stall space with another trader at just £22.50. All stall holders must hold business/trading insurance and current hygiene certificates as appropriate.

Traditionally, we don’t seem to have a lot of luck in this country with the weather when the weekend comes.

It’s a running joke that through the week the weather is fair but as soon as work finishes on Friday, the rain clouds arrive.

But it’s best to be prepared for those few weekends we do get of glorious sunshine.

Often spotted in Sheffield's parks, an ice cream from a Cuneo's van is a popular choice. The family-run firm is often experimenting with new flavours, including, more recently, Dubai chocolate.
