It's a glorious Tuesday out there today but we've got a shift in plans tonight. Given it's the England world cup game kicking off 9PM we're cancelling the quiz for this week and it will return next week.

For us on the bar we've got a stacked line up including specials from the weekends Kelham pride event but we're only running until 10PM this evening so get down for your pre-match pints.

Spirit Of The Week...

Distillery
The Tyrconnell 43.0%

This satisfying Irish single malt whiskey is produced in County Louth, Ireland and is double distilled before being matured in ex bourbon casks.
On the nose there's melted butter, honeyed cereal and a touch of orange pith. Whilst on the palate you find rich vanilla and soft fudge, with a touch of granary toast underneath. Finishing with lingering nutmeg spiciness and a touch of drying oak.

Have you tried our new sour kegged beer yet?

Bear Squirrel

Sherbet Lemon Sour 4.3%

Bright, zesty and properly mischievous. This Sour hits like a bag of sherbet straight to the face, sharp enough to make you wince, fizzy enough to make you grin, and just sweet enough to make you keep going. That citrus punch doesn’t mess around, and the sweet and sour finish lingers teasingly long. It’s got bite, it’s got fizz, and it’s full of nostalgia.

Our doors are open and we'll be serving all of our delicious beverages till 11pm tonight!

It's warm and dry out and we're in the starting point of the world cup stages but none of that matters to us here as it's a Tuesday which can only mean one thing.. the return of our weekly quiz night. Our resident Quiz Master Dave will be in the house from 8.30PM with those challenging general knowledge questions.

For us on the bar we've got plenty of choice across our wide range of cask ales, keg beers and spirits all available until 11PM tonight as usual. Keep your eyes peeled for specials for the upcoming Kelham Pride event.

Spirit Of The Week...

Distillery
17 year old, Orange wine cask finish. 53.6%

Deanston Orange Wine Cask Finish spends 15 years in bourbon casks, building the waxy texture and honeyed depth the distillery is known for, before a deliberately left-field two-year finish in rare Vino de Naranja casks from Andalucía. These fortified wine casks, infused with sun-dried orange peel and matured via a traditional solera system, bring layers of citrus oil, nutty oxidation, and gentle tannin. On the nose fresh orange zest and marmalade lead, followed by dried apricot, honey, toasted almonds, and soft malt sweetness. Subtle white florals, chamomile, and light oak spice emerge with time. Whilst on the palate you find bright citrus oils and blood orange balance stone fruit, sultanas, and a biscuit-malt core. Vinous depth brings orange blossom honey, ginger warmth, gentle nutmeg, and refined wood spice. On the finish there's lingering orange peel, soft tannin, and warming oak with a final flicker of citrus zest.

Spirit Of The Week...

Distillery
Peated Muscat 51.0%

Produced in the heart of Edinburgh, this peated single malt has been matured in sweet muscat wine casks! Layered with notes of honeyed nuts, dark chocolate, and sweet, subtly maritime smoke, it's an elegantly balanced demonstration of the smokier side of the young Leith-based distillery. On the nose there's sweet smoke up front with gentle earthy tones, charred oak, vanilla, and a touch of citrus zest. Whilst on the palate you find a balance of honeyed malt and warming spice, layered with toasted nuts, dark chocolate, and rich waves of peat smoke. The finish is long and smooth with lingering bonfire embers, sweet smoke, and a subtle maritime edge.
