17 year old, Orange wine cask finish. 53.6%
Deanston Orange Wine Cask Finish spends 15 years in bourbon casks, building the waxy texture and honeyed depth the distillery is known for, before a deliberately left-field two-year finish in rare Vino de Naranja casks from Andalucía. These fortified wine casks, infused with sun-dried orange peel and matured via a traditional solera system, bring layers of citrus oil, nutty oxidation, and gentle tannin. On the nose fresh orange zest and marmalade lead, followed by dried apricot, honey, toasted almonds, and soft malt sweetness. Subtle white florals, chamomile, and light oak spice emerge with time. Whilst on the palate you find bright citrus oils and blood orange balance stone fruit, sultanas, and a biscuit-malt core. Vinous depth brings orange blossom honey, ginger warmth, gentle nutmeg, and refined wood spice. On the finish there's lingering orange peel, soft tannin, and warming oak with a final flicker of citrus zest.
