To all our customers wondering if the quality of our ciabatta bread changing or us not always having them in stock is due to cost cutting we can assure you that this is not the case! Our small independent family run bakery that we were using for 15/20 years for our famous ciabattas unfortunately closed down, due to covid 19/lockdowns and sadly a family illness.
As you all know the replacements we were using were never the same and we tried lots of other bakery’s and suppliers over the last 2 years trying our hardest to match the quality but none of these could match what we had before.
This was out of our hands.
Until a few weeks back we had a phone call that the bakery we used to use were open and trading again. Thankfully this means we have been able to get our original ciabattas that we all missed back.
Now that we have them back, we’ve just been adjusting to order amounts with certain minimum orders & delivery restrictions in place, whilst also making sure they’re as fresh as they can be. We’re certainly not cutting back or trying to replace ciabatta with white or brown sliced bread! That is the last thing we want.
We have ciabattas for today and as from Monday will have the flow of supply at the correct amounts for us not to be short or be out of stock.
We apologise that the quality of bread has lacked over the last 2 years. It was truly out of our hands and we’re now delighted to have the best ciabatta’s back regardless of the significant price increase! Quality comes first!
Also, as one of the longest running independents still left in sevenoaks with all the big chains popping up around us, we want to thank you all for your continued support and custom.
