Sevenoaks celebrated the official opening of the stunning new Greatness Football & Community Centre on Friday 18 September. Sevenoaks Town Council and Sevenoaks Town Football Club have worked in close partnership to achieve this ambitious project.
Greatness Football & Community Centre is the new clubhouse for Sevenoaks Town Football Club. The fantastic new facility will create lasting economic, social and environmental benefits for residents and visitors, providing a vibrant hub for sport, recreation and community activity.
This project was made possible thanks to over £2 million in funding from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation, the Premier League Stadium Fund, Sevenoaks District Council Community Infrastructure Levy, Sevenoaks Town Football Club and Sevenoaks Town Council.
The modern building includes changing rooms, a kitchen, gym area, café and refreshment areas, providing a welcoming space for players, supporters and the wider community. The centre was finished on schedule and to a great standard.
The project also reflects Sevenoaks Town Council’s commitment to sustainability and Green Community Investment Plan. The building incorporates an air source heat pump, photovoltaic (solar) panels and a living green wall, helping to improve its environmental performance and reduce its long-term carbon footprint.
The Mayor of Sevenoaks, Cllr Victoria Granville, commented, “The members and players of Sevenoaks Town Football Club, together with the wider Sevenoaks community, have eagerly awaited the completion of this outstanding facility. I am delighted that the day has finally arrived, demonstrating the strength of the partnership between the football community and Sevenoaks Town Council.
“Congratulations to everyone involved, particularly Paul Lansdale, Chairman of Sevenoaks Town FC; Linda Larter, Town Clerk of Sevenoaks Town Council; and the exceptional construction team at Longley.
“We look forward to the next phase at Greatness, with Sevenoaks Town Council investing in a new playground and outdoor gym, as well as landscaping, to create an even better space for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
Paul Lansdale, Chairman of Sevenoaks Town FC, said, “The opening of Greatness Football & Community Centre is an incredibly proud moment for Sevenoaks Town Football Club and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our club and community.
“This fantastic new pavilion would simply not have been possible without the close partnership we have built with Sevenoaks Town Council. By working together, we have been able to turn an ambitious vision for Greatness Park into a facility that will benefit not only our football club, but the wider Sevenoaks community for many years to come.

The opening of Greatness Football & Community Centre marks an important milestone in the wider transformation of Greatness Recreation Ground. This autumn, Sevenoaks Town Council will be installing a fantastic new playground, outdoor gym and landscaping, further enhancing the area.
