Don’t hate us for mentioning the C-word but …

Christmas has a funny way of creeping up on us… one minute it’s October, the next you’re panic-buying cranberry sauce and wondering if cheese counts as a main course.

So, to help keep things calm, delicious and vaguely organised, our Compton McRae 2026 Christmas Order Sheet is now ready.

It’s the place to order all your festive favourites, from cheeses, turkeys and Christmas hams to cranberry sauce, cheese straws, sausage rolls, Compton McRae granola and plenty of useful bits for the days when no one wants to cook.

You can find the order sheet via the link in our Instagram bio, or pop into the shop where we’ll have printed copies ready for you to take home with your coffee.

We’d love to help with celebrations big or small, from canapé parties and warming soups for a crowd to frozen meals ready for when the house is full.

Let the festive planning begin.

👨‍🍳 WE’RE HIRING — SEASONAL CHEF

Christmas is one of our busiest — and most exciting — times of year at Compton McRae, and we’re looking for an experienced Seasonal Chef to join our kitchen team for the festive period.

This is a 6-week contract, starting in mid-November and running through until 23rd December.

We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, energetic and experienced in a busy restaurant kitchen. December at Compton McRae is fast-paced, so you’ll need to be organised, confident under pressure and happy to get stuck in — but you’ll be joining a fantastic team who know exactly what they’re doing!

The details:

👨‍🍳 Seasonal Chef — 6-week contract
📅 Mid-November – 23rd December
🗓 5 days per week, with some flexibility around working days
🎄 Every Saturday + Sunday 20th December required
⏰ 8am–4pm, with some flexibility where needed
📍 Compton McRae, Semley, SP7 9AW
💷 Competitive rate of pay, based on experience

There may also be the opportunity for further work in Spring/Summer if it’s a good fit for everyone.

📣 WE’RE HIRING — PART-TIME FRONT OF HOUSE

We’re looking for a brilliant new person to join our Front of House team at Compton McRae.

We’re after someone who is friendly, outgoing and proactive, enjoys working with people and is keen to learn. Experience is always helpful, but a great attitude, willingness to get stuck in and being a good team player are just as important.

The role will mainly be:
✨ Fridays & Saturdays
⏰ 8.30am–4.30pm, with a little flexibility where needed
📍 Compton McRae, Semley, SP7 9AW
💷 Competitive rate of pay, based on experience

You’ll be joining a lovely, hardworking team in our busy deli, cafe and restaurant — so we’re looking for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, can use their initiative and is always happy to lend a hand.

Due to the ongoing construction work we will unfortunately need to close early today to do essential maintenance and cleaning. We will run lunch until 1:30pm but then close our doors at 2pm.

Please do pop by this morning for your coffees and takeaway needs. If you would like to join us for lunch please do book an early table.

It’s time for the last pizza night of the year - If you haven’t yet got your hands on one, this is your last chance!

Due to the change in weather we are closing an hour early, so come and get your pizzas between 5-7pm. Our pizzas are limited so be sure to book a table or order a takeaway by 4pm on Friday so we can ensure no one is disappointed!
