Due to 'Tour Of The Borders'
Closing the roads on Sunday the 7th of September..
We are being forced to close on our busiest day of the week. That day, Sunday, brings in 80% of our weekly takings. Our staff will lose out on a days wages, which is the case for every business in this area and we will struggle next week, financially. We will all be trapped at home until afternoon. Can't even make the most of a day off.
Neil Dalgleish wanted us to be a food station, with huge discounts and 800 pre-made home made cakes, because running at a loss would be better than not running at all apparently, despite having no staff. Except, the last person to say yes to him, is still chasing him for that money. He promised her compensation too and 3 years later, she is still chasing him to pay up. He has apparently been working with our community for 15 years to reduce impact on us but all he has achieved is burning his bridges with all possible venues in this area and won't be able to run this event much longer, unless he scouts out a 2nd route, which would take the impact off us every other year. Wasn't it, after all, meant to be tour of the borders and Not just tour of Peebles to Moffat, crushing the small businesses on that route, year after year???? Moffat isn't even in the borders!
You all know what a Sunday is like here.. its a lot of money to lose out on.
We are not anti - cycling...
We ARE anti - Neil Dalgleish!
So..
No Cafe on Sunday guys.. roads don't open till 3.
Apologies in advance for the Inconvenience
