Waffle Seaton

Waffle Seaton We have closed Waffle Seaton and are opening Waffle Lyme Regis so join us in Axminster or Lyme.

A small group of individuals with our hearts set on making a difference in the community, a through the power of waffle.

We just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting Waffle Seaton over the last couple of years. It has been great fun being the home for RE:STORE and watching them get up to so much in the community. We are particularly grateful to Sue for running the space so well and to all the staff at Seaton Hospital for making us feel so welcome.

Our last trading day will be tomorrow Thursday 16th January, and we would love to see you before then if you get a chance to pop in for a waffle or a cuppa.

RE:STORE are currently in talks with NHS properties to see if they can negotiate the future use of the space so keep an eye on their updates as hopefully the space can continue to be used for the community going forwards.

Since June 2022 Re:store Axe Valley CIC and The Community Waffle House CIC have been working together to create a welcoming community café hub on site at Seaton Hospital. Over the last 2 ½ years we have had the privilege to utilise this space, serving the local community, hospital staff and patients alike.

In this time we have been kindly supported by NHS property who have covered many of the costs associated with the space. These costs are soon to be increased which means that the situation is no longer sustainable for Waffle to operate within the space and therefore, sadly, Waffle will be leaving the café hub by mid-January 2025.

It has been a fantastic journey for us as a partnership; turning an empty damp kitchen into a wonderful environment for the local community and for people to use throughout the week.

We want to especially thank Sue, our wonderful Café Manager, and all the members of staff at the hospital who have made the last couple of years so much fun. Waffle and Re:store will continue to work together on a project basis

Re:store Axe Valley CIC will continue to host Citizens Advice, support groups (for families and youth), befriending, reading with Seaton primary and some new exciting partnerships, as they continue to offer services through the space which will benefit the health and wellbeing of the Seaton community. The first of these new projects will be working with Sustainable Project Live CIC to become the home to Seaton Radio station, a service which will, among other things, share vital information to the community through the airwaves.

Re:store recognise the importance of the café hub at Seaton Hospital, and fully intend to continue this service in some capacity.

We’d love to encourage you to please continue to support both organisations in their work and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions about the space going forward.

A local ladies group from Seaton attended a workshop with Dan from I made this

The ladies enjoyed making mini highland cows from driftwood that Dan had collected from the Jurassic coast.

It was such a fun afternoon of crafting and learning new skills.

Remember the space here can be hired if you would like to host an event here, get in touch.

Headlight Seaton turns 1.

Our Seaton Headlight group turned one recently and we had the amazing Dan from and do a workshop with our young people where they got to make mini highland cows, work together and learn new skills.

We also enjoyed a waffle-making station where the young people created their own waffles which was a real treat.

We still have space in our Seaton group if you know someone between 11-18 who needs support with their mental health.

Recently we have had a few new starters at Seaton . We recognise the importance of breaking the ice and getting to know each other in a fun and gentle way. This activity always presents lots of laughs, while also providing the opportunity to get to know each other better.

Our pals over at Headlight are unlocking the Power of Connection!

Seaton and Axminster Headlight groups came together to build connections by participating in an escape room. When we come together to face challenges and celebrate wins, we strengthen bonds that help us navigate the ups and downs of life.

Thank you to those who joined us on Wednesday to experience the power of connection firsthand. 💚

We are Open! Come for a coffee or a waffle or maybe even a little waffling.
