Ever wondered the difference between IPA & EPA ?

Originally English Pale Ale was the most common beer in England and was distributed throughout the Empire to all the colonies including India.
The problem with shipping beer to India in the 1800s was the long trip around Africa which combined with the hot weather caused the beer to spoil.

One of the suppliers of beers to the crown figured out that if he made the beer higher in alcohol, and added more hops to the beer, it makes the beer more resilient and the beer would survive the long voyage. Hops act as a preservative, and so does the higher alcohol.
To differentiate between the regular Pale Ale and the Pale Ale that goes to India, they named the beers English Pale Ale and India Pale Ale.

Unfortunately, Due to heavy rain we have exposed a few leaks from our flat roof, Causing various dangerous spots in the bar area.

So Due to H&S we be closed from 4pm today, and not reopen till tomorrow.
