Cafe Indie is a cafe, music venue and youth work project. In the day, we're a relaxed Cafe hosting a wide range of groups, friends and customers - staffed by our youth work team and young volunteers. In the evening, we become an arts venue - hosting live music, poetry and exhibitions. Please see our website or in house promotional material to see what's coming up. Please note when a gig is on, we
may have to alter opening times. Underpinning all this, the Cafe is a youth work project. We run various programs for young people including the volunteer program, music development, youth clubs, a drop-in and issue-based sessions. We never forget that our young people are our primary reason for being. Sometimes our customers do, so please remember the person serving you is most likely a volunteer, here for their own development and you can play a role in that. There's more to the Cafe than you see. Up, upstairs, we have a creative youth work and event space, providing an ideas workshop for the development and progression of our young people. Cafe Indie isn't about indie music, it's about being independent.
