TONIGHT is the Infamous & Extraordinary George Quiz at 8:30pm , it's advised to get in early to ensure you get a table as last week we were rammed to the rafters! We can always drag in more tables if needed and can seat some people round the bar.

Also it's our first Open Mic Night tomorrow from 7:00pm and we have quite a few artists coming over to play. We could squeeze a couple more in though.
We have the equipment, a couple of SM58 mics and a mixer, and a reverb, you only need bring any extra pedals or fx you might need and plug straight into our mixer and PA.

If you fancy popping along, just to have a listen, chat with other artists, or get behind the mic and play 3 or 4 songs then pop along for 7pm.

More Bank Holiday Live Music @ The George .........
After last night’s absolute corker, a massive thank you to Jaymie Thomas, who completely wowed us. Definitely one we’ll be getting back to The George very soon.
The power cut afterwards didn't seem to spoil anyone's fun and we just turned to candlelit tables!

Today’s Bank Holiday line-up kicks off from 5pm with a little nod to the late, great Dolly Parton and, for the first time at The George, a helping of Country in the front bar with Craig Rushworth.

Then from 8pm, Luke Robinson Music returns to get busy with his musical gadgetry, guitar wizardry and a whole load of belters.

A Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon and evening of quality live music, and probably a bit of dancing by the end of it.

We reckon that if you looked up ‘Quality Live Music’ in the Yellow Pages, you'd probably stumble across this little lot for the Bank Holiday Weekend...

Friday from 7pm Loki's Pizza are kicking off the weekend with their amazing scran.
If you haven't tried them, you need their Longboats, hot dogs wrapped in pizza bread, an absolute winner.

Saturday from 8pm, we've the utterly brilliant Jaymie Thomas in the front bar, singing and strumming for a Quick One @ The George. You might want to check out his new single 'Stay A Little Longer' on Spotify as a little taster.

Sunday, following yesterdays sad news, we thought we would have our own little ode to the late, and unbelievably great Dolly Parton. Visitors to the George will have heard a few of her songs playing now and again. Craig Rushworth will be singing and playing a whole load of Country in the front bar from 5pm.

Then Luke Robinson Music takes over with his guitar and pedal wizardry from 8pm. Anyone who's already seen Luke at The George will know just how brilliant he is. If you haven't managed to catch him yet, make sure you do this time.

Got a record collection you reckon the rest of us need to hear?

20 minutes. Your records. Your choices.

Book yourself a slot, put together a short set and bring your vinyl down to The George. No pressure to be a superstar DJ, no need for fancy mixing — this one's about the records you choose and the story you tell with them.

Plus you get to use a proper pair of Technics and hear your records on our Funktion One sound system.

There's just one rule...

Before you play, we want your set written down on a piece of paper — artist and track. We'll pin every setlist to the wall so everyone can see what's been played, and maybe discover something new. Exactly as it should be.

And then there's THE SECRET 7"

Everyone playing brings one 7" single, but you don't tell anybody what it is.

At the end of the night, the Secret 7s come out.

Your mission?

Bring one record that'll absolutely knock us sideways.

A forgotten classic. Something ridiculously rare. A guilty pleasure. An obscure B-side. Something beautiful. Something bonkers.

We don't care.

Just impress us - and get 'em dancing!!! .

All genres welcome. Soul, punk, disco, indie, house, funk, reggae, rock, electronic, hip-hop, pop, oddities and things we're not quite sure how to categorise. All we ask is its a set to get everyone dancing or at least foot tapping.
