🍑🍵 Apricot & Thyme Matcha 🍵🍑

A drink some of the team sampled on the stand at Amsterdam Coffee Festival this year that we just had to bring back to Scarborough.

House made apricot & thyme purée, milk of your choice (we definitely recommend oat for this one) and matcha, all served over ice.

Sweet sticky apricot pairs so well with the burst of fresh thyme and make this more than your average summery matcha drink.

🍌 Banana Split Cake 🍌

New on the counter and for a limited time!

Soft and moist banana sponge coated with a layer of banana-infused frosting and topped with dark chocolate, hazelnuts and a sour cherry crumb.

It’s what banana bread wishes it could be.

Eindhoven based .art are now at Koda!

We had the pleasure of meeting Daniell and the team at Amsterdam Coffee Festival earlier this year and seriously loved their coffee and their vibe. One of their coffees (we had to narrow it down) made it onto our tasting menu of festival standouts that many of you got to try.

Now we have managed to get a heftier selection of their range (Superpunch is included) to brew on the bar and on the shelves for you to enjoy at home.

While we will be adding more on guest in due course, we are currently brewing ‘Piña Colada’ as one your coffee options.

Farm: Finca La Milan
Producer: Julio César Madrid
Varietal: Caturra
Process: Maypop Co-Infusion
Taste Notes: Pineapple, Passionfruit, Coconut, Cinnamon

Maypop is another name for the purple passionflower. The fruits having a taste often described as mix of banana, orange & kiwi.
This coffee tastes super tropical, sweet and creamy and so the name Piña Colada is very apt.
An incredibly versatile coffee, it works really well as espresso, hand brew and in milky drinks (shorter ideally) and makes for an absolutely mega espresso tonic.

🌞 Summer Menus 🌞

This season’s summer menus.

Heaps of iced drinks, including a couple of creations we had the delight of trying over at Amsterdam Coffee Festival.

Keeping plenty of our brunch staples - the Benedict is going nowhere just yet!

Yes - Açai bowls are back.

Alongside all this we’ll also be making some focaccia sarnies through the week, maybe doing more ice pops and a few other bits and bobs. Lots to go at!

A new way to beat the heat.

We’ve made a few different ice pops to help you keep cool this weekend.

• 🍫 Chocolate - & coconut milk
• 🍵 Matcha - match, coconut milk & vanilla
• ☕️ Iced Latte - x .coffee house espresso, & brown sugar

Literally only got a handful of each for tomorrow, but if they prove popular enough we’ll make more and maybe have them more often throughout the summer.

🎂🎈Koda Is 7! 🎈🎂

Today officially marks 7 years of Koda!

On the one hand it feels like it was only yesterday we were scrambling to get the last bits ready the night before our opening day, and yet it also feels like a lifetime ago.

Each year has brought its own challenges but we’ve done our best to get through and evolve and we hope to continue to do so - I still love what I do!

Thank you to all our incredible suppliers for giving me the chance to work with them and represent them as best I can. 🙌

Special shout out to the legends at for being amazing and continually supportive from day one, and for their tireless work in sourcing our exclusive coffees - it’s a real privilege! Our current house, the U.K. exclusive from Hoyos Brothers is our tastiest coffee yet! 🙏

Thank you to my wife, family & friends for putting up with me through it all, and supporting me endlessly. 💙

Thank you also to the wonderful team members over the years that have helped shape Koda into what it is today - including our amazing team at the moment, Abbi, George & Fin! 🫶

🍰 Is It Milky Cake Enough? 🍰

Milky Cake is signature coffee and one we’re always excited to taste whenever we get chance.

This most recent harvest has a slightly different flavour profile to previous crops. It’s still the same coffee - varietal, farm, producer, processing method etc, so it can only be down to terroir.

This begs the questions - Is It Milky Cake Enough To Call It The Same?

We are offering the unique chance for you make your own mind up on this and to see for yourself the impact the natural environment and the seasons can have on the flavour profile of coffee.

We froze a limited batch of Milky Cake in 2024 and so now you can try this side by side with this latest version.

Enjoy the flight either as two espressos, two flat whites or two hand brews. Taste, compare, enjoy and let us know your thoughts. Is it milky cake enough to call it the same?

🇳🇱 DAK is back! 🇳🇱

We recently got a restock of one our favourite roasters - Amsterdam based .

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting their store and taking part in a guided tasting during our team trip last month, so we can say first hand just how great these coffees are (many of them were featured on the cupping table).

There’s plenty on the shelves (although it won’t hang around) including some steeped coffees - pre ground coffee in a bag to which you just add hot water like a tea and leave it to brew!

Alongside this we have a few DAK coffees up on the bar for you to try, and from today until sold out, we have a special Is It Milky Cake Enough? tasting flight.

More to come on that soon, but just ask at the bar in the meantime.

💥 Koda Club 💥

For all you coffee lovers and home brewers out there.

We want to give you a chance to get in on stuff early, get the coffees you want, maybe coffees we might not otherwise stock and grab bigger 1kg bags if that’s your thing.

The idea?

We’ll send out emails ahead of any orders we do for both North Star and any guest roasters we feature. We’ll give you the range and pricing, and you simply let us know if there’s anything specific you want us to get in for you. No obligation, no subscription, just whenever you see something you fancy.

There will be a bit of a learning curve as we try to get this right and gauge demand, and also we will need to set cut off points for orders so we can get everything together and place the main order. We’re hopeful this will work though!
