I enjoyed my favourite treat - a peanut jam slam burger - at the Hideout over a working lunch to discuss the challenges facing Scarborough's hospitality industry as the summer season comes to an end.

It's a perfect storm of falling footfall, VAT, higher wages/NICS, energy bills and business rates. I've promised owner Chris Marson that I'll hold a local hospitality roundtable to hear from businesses so I can take your views straight to government.
