Previously in the duo Red Sky, I will now be going just by my name, 'Red'. I will be singing a full range of songs a Capella, from folk to popular, some well known and some unknown, and also some original songs too. I have been singing and performing since 2015 and over that time my voice has been described as beautiful, haunting and ethereal.

A fantastic debut for you all to enjoy at the Acoustic Sesh today!

It’s Emily River Thomson!!

Emily is a singer songwriter based in Skidby, East Yorkshire playing guitar and ukelele. Her influences are varied ranging from Fleetwood Mac and Carole King, through to modern day artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Emily Ann Roberts, Blair Dunlop, Sam Hunt and Luke Combs. Emily’s writing falls within the modern country/folk genre. Emily has supported international artists such as Sound of the Sirens, Duke Special, Holloway Road and Blair Dunlop whom she accompanied live on stage on the first date of his ‘Notes from an Island’ tour at Kardomah94. Emily continues to play festivals across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and released her debut album ‘Chrysalis’ on 23rd October 2025 to a ‘sold out’ launch event at the Union Mash Up in Hull. Emily has recently featured as a guest on the Alan Ritson ‘Fine Folk’ Show on LCR FM103.6 and also as a guest on Tracey Horsey’s Folk Hour on 103 The Eye Radio Station as well as getting air play on BBC Introducing and on i-heart radio in Los Angeles.
