Two superb string quartets join forces in music conceived on a grand scale, opening with the Aris Quartet playing Schubertโ€™s D minor Quartet ๐˜‹๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฉ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ before the NOVO Quartet join for a performance of Mendelssohnโ€™s astonishing Octet, written in a blaze of youthful confidence when the composer was only sixteen.

This concert will be recorded for future broadcast by BBC Radio 3
