This month we’re shining a spotlight on Blue Spaces Saxmundham, a fantastic volunteer group led by Laura that’s helping care for the blue spaces of Saxmundham.
Their work goes far beyond litter picking. From river clean-ups and tackling invasive non-native species (like Himalayan balsam), to water quality testing and wildlife surveys, they spend each month looking after the River Fromus and the nature that depends on it.
Laura is also leading two major projects with Saxmundham Town Council to improve the town’s resilience to both drought and flooding, helping protect our community for years to come.
Initiatives like this are such an important part of what makes Saxmundham a wonderful place to live. They protect wildlife, improve water quality, help reduce pollution, make our green spaces more enjoyable for everyone, and bring the community together to care for the place we all call home.
A huge thank you to Laura and every volunteer who gives their time, energy and passion to this incredible work.
