Good morning. Just a reminder that we are open this Saturday. Come and enjoy a German baked cheesecake, Erdbeer Kuchen (strawberry cake), freshly baked pretzels, etc, and of course great coffee. Let’s hope the weather is good - sitting in the courtyard is lovely at this time of year. 😊🐾 ☕️ 🍰

What an amazing day yesterday, the art festival was definitely a success! 😀 Thanks to all that helped organise it. 👏
Many of you saw our For Sale sign but we didn’t have much time to explain…sadly yes we are selling but in this financial market it could take a year or two, so it’s not imminent. With only 2 years until Silke can retire now is the time to start off the process. We want to spend more time in Germany seeing Silke’s mum, who is 91 and needing more support, and at our house in Bavaria, so weekends are precious and we want the freedom to go rather than running the gallery. It’s a shame after all our renovation work but family comes first. We have enjoyed every minute and will continue to open once or twice a month until it sells. (We are open next Friday 14th 👍) 😊☕️🐾🥨

It’s the Saxmundham Arts Festival this Saturday so let’s hope for sunny weather. We will have a stall outside the cafe selling our usual goodies including bratwurst, freshly made pretzels and Apple Strudel. This year we will also have the German summer drink Sommerbowle…our version is white wine, ice, sparking water and strawberries. Plus iced teas and our usual tasty coffee, German beers, cakes, etc. Hopefully see you all there ☀️🥨 🍰🍷🌭☕️🍺☀️

Just a reminder that we are open this Friday 12th April 😊 Homemade cakes this week include Mohn Käsekuchen (baked cheesecake with poppy seed and lemon), Pfirsich Pudding Streuselkuchen (peach, vanilla custard & crumble topping) and of course our Apfel Strudel 😋 🍰 ☕️
As I always post photos of Vela & Heli I thought this time I’d introduce our cat - Paxi, he’s almost 11 now. He hates being left at home, so he now travels back & forth to Germany with us quite happily! He loves the dogs new bed but with being white he disappears into it 🤣 🐈

Hello everyone. Here are our next two opening dates.
An update on our repairs…the insurance company tell us it’ll be end of April that the final frontage will be put in…just awaiting the grade 2 listing planning permission it seems. It’s such a long process!
Hope to see you this coming Saturday if you fancy an artisan coffee and a German cake ☕️ 🍰 🐾😊

Good morning, we hope you are all well 😊 We have been in Snowy Bavaria for quite a few weeks, but now back. The temporary cafe frontage has been erected & final repairs to match the original should happen in the next month or so once the grade 2 listing approval is received. Will be such a relief once back to normal!!
In the meantime we are going to open for the day next Friday 9th February, 10am to 9pm. Come and visit us for artisan coffee and delicious home made German cakes and snacks! 😋 🍰 Dogs welcome of course (Heli is one next week, Vela is two next month…doesn’t the time fly!) 🐾🐾

A full structural survey this week has given us the all clear that the cafe is safe and the damage is mainly broken wood 😊 So despite it still looking a mess and boarded up we will be open this Friday to participate in the Saxmundham Christmas market. We will have a stall outside selling warm Glühwein, Bratwurst, pretzels & Apple Strudel!
The courtyard and backroom will also be open all day with access via our back entrance (to the left of the cafe) through the courtyard…it’ll be warm & cosy with the wood burner on. 😊 We look forward to seeing you all…

Please note that we are open on 1st Dec for the Sax Victorian Christmas market with a stall selling Glühwein and Bratwurst, but we now will not be opening on 16th Dec as we will be in Germany. See you Saturday x

Here are our opening dates between now and Christmas…starting this Saturday 14th October. 😊
Thank you to everyone who came to our Oktoberfest celebration a few weeks ago - (it takes place in September despite the name) - it was great to see so many of you and we were very lucky with the weather!
Fingers crossed for the sun this weekend as I expect only a few more weeks of being able to sit in the courtyard. We will have our usual barista coffee, German biers, bratwurst, schnitzel, homemade pretzels and of course traditional cakes & freshly baked strudel! 😋

(I tried my best to get a German oompah band for the day but none available sadly)
Heli is much bigger than Vela now, but still very much a puppy and falls asleep in the funniest places! 💕🤣🐾
