Two days. That's it.

The kitchen's back on this Thursday, proper fish and chips, the Sunday roast done right, steak and eggs, chicken flatbread, a garden plate that changes minds, and scones with a proper pot of tea.

Thursday 20th August. Thu–Sat 10–3 & 6–9, Sunday 12–4.

BEATS & BITES - Saturday 22nd August.

We're turning the bistro over to the decks. Local DJs spinning from 2pm till 9pm, our Bistro Bites menu on all day to keep you going, and a cold one with your name on it.

Roll in for a lazy afternoon, stay for the evening, dance if the mood takes you. No tickets, no fuss + free entry, all welcome.

Off to Whitby Regatta? 8–10 August - England's oldest sea regatta, 173 years young.

Saturday: Robinson Cup sailing, vintage motors on Spa Green, and the Sandsend–Whitby sea swim.

Sunday: scooter rally, vintage vehicles and the dog show on West Cliff.

Monday: fancy dress parade, prize-giving at Abbey Wharf, and fireworks over the harbour at 9:45pm.

And when you're heading home up the A171, hungry after a big day out - see the big hill? Turn into Moorsholm. Proper food, honest prices, kids and dogs welcome. Open Thu–Sat & Sun.

PARMO NIGHT IS COMING.

Last Thursday of every month, the kitchen turns out the North East's finest: flattened breaded chicken breast, fried golden, smothered in béchamel and bubbling cheese, with hand-cut chips on the side.
