We wanted to share the great progress Cliffemount has made over the last few months with our Facebook Community. Here’s a snapshot of the latest developments!

📢 Important Announcement 📢

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to proceed with the construction phase of Cliffemount and a date has been set for the building works to begin 🙌

From March 24th our contractors, Stainforth Construction, will be on site and will begin the necessary works 🎉

Due to the scale of the project, there is a significant amount of ground work that needs to be done prior to any physical structures being put in place.

In the first few months therefore, they will be focusing on:

✅ Regrading, cutting and filling the ground to the required level
✅ Piling preparations and associated works
✅ Works on the substructures, foundations and below ground drainage

It is always our aim to minimise the impact on local residents, however, with all construction projects comes a level of disruption that cannot be avoided.

We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused and would like to thank local residents for their continued cooperation.

We are one step closer to our vision becoming a reality 🏨

We're excited to enter 2025 when we will start to see our vision for Cliffemount come to life 🙌

We know a lot of our followers and the local community are keen to know what Cliffemount will look like inside.

It's no secret that our aim is for Cliffemount to be the UK's first Passivhaus Hotel 💪

But, did you know that because Cliffemount will have a pub, bar and restaurant, that each of those will receive their own Passivhaus accreditation too?

This means that Cliffemount could be the UK's first hotel to have Passivhaus accreditation for it's pub, bar and restaurant also 😮

As a family, we care about the future of tourism in North Yorkshire - it's one of the many reasons we are investing in the redevelopment of Cliffemount.

When we heard about a new organisation launching which would drive forward tourism in the county, we couldn't help but be excited 😀

Not only are the group aiming to help tourism businesses to reach their full potential, but they also want to increase the number of people who visit the county too.

Siobhan, one of our Directors, was able to attend the launch event for Visit North Yorkshire at Castle Howard recently and heard more about the 10-year strategy they've developed.

It is great to know that what we are doing with Cliffemount will support the growth of tourism in North Yorkshire that so many are seeking 🙌

Following the success of the demolition, our team got together with our contractors for a 'next steps meeting' at our offices in Ilkley.

Getting together to evaluate and plan is crucial for such a large-scale project.

Some of the things we discussed were 👇

💡 How smoothly the demolition went

💡 How positive the response from the public was

💡 What's next in terms of preparation for the build

💡 Contracts and legalities

💡 Passivhaus accreditation and the finer details

Every person around the table was able to contribute something positive to the meeting, which was fantastic to see.

It really is great to have such a passionate and knowledgeable group of people joining us on this journey.
