Three women at table twelve did the math out loud: "Two hours of prosecco for £25, we'll definitely save money."

We hear it all the time here under our 600-year-old beams. Salisbury locals love a proper catch-up, and a bottomless afternoon sounds like the perfect ticket. But over the years, our team has noticed a funny pattern with how these afternoons actually play out.

These beams have been holding up this room since 1420. That's over 600 years of conversations, suppers, and Friday nights under the same timber frame.

Funny thing is, what people tell us they remember isn't the history. It's the welcome.

Nobody's checking whether the waistcoat is straight, whether the jigger is level, whether the passion fruit sits just so on the foam. The drink arrives. You take a sip. That's the bit you notice.

But the rest is there too, quietly. In the balance. In the chill. In the way the froth holds its shape long enough for you to actually see it before you drink it 🍸

Twenty-two people round one long table, an engagement do in full swing, and a room that's seen this sort of thing for about six centuries.

That's tonight. Balloons going up, glasses charged, the newly engaged couple at the head of the table while everyone takes turns telling stories that probably shouldn't leave the building. The beams have heard plenty of speeches over the years. They'll handle these ones beautifully.

Turns out a 600-year-old building at 51 Blue Boar Row is rather good at holding a party. The floorboards have taken a fair bit of dancing. Nothing we throw at it really fazes the place.

And it's not just engagements. We can do private hire for the whole bistro, a tucked-away corner for a birthday dinner, or a long table for 20+ when the whole family's in town. Weddings, anniversaries, work do's that aren't quite work do's. Buffets if you want everyone grazing, a proper sit-down menu if you'd rather make an occasion of it.

Gin Week starts Monday, and the back bar's been quietly plotting for weeks.

From the 6th to the 11th of July, every gin on the shelf is 20% off. That includes the ones we usually save for a slow chat at the bar. Witchmark, Ten Hides Pink, Mermaid, Tanqueray No. Ten, Plymouth Navy, and HMS Victory all included.
