Paper clutter is unusual because it doesn't take up much space, but it takes up a huge amount of headspace.

I started The Clutter Fairy because I kept seeing the same thing in people's homes. Not laziness, not a lack of trying, just life moving faster than anyone had time to organise it.

I wanted to build something that helped without judgement, because clutter is almost never really about the stuff. It's about time, energy and sometimes emotions that have got tangled up with what's in the house.

Sixteen years later, that's still exactly what we do, just with a brilliant team behind me now instead of it just being me.

This was me back in the day looking much younger and definitely way more flexible.

We all have one. The rail so bunched up that getting one thing out means wrestling ten others out of the way first, and half the time you still can't reach it.

Yes, it is about having too many clothes. But it's really about all the decisions behind them, the "I might fit into this again", the "it was expensive", the "I can't quite let this go yet". Once we work through those, the stuff itself is easy to sort.

We help people work through this kind of thing all the time, sorting what's actually being worn from what's just being stored.

One kitchen, one day of decluttering.

Every drawer here had turned into a catch-all. Expired coupons, three broken can openers, carrier bags stuffed with more carrier bags, and cupboards where nothing had a proper home. Nothing dramatic, just years of "I'll deal with it later."

The fix wasn't fancy. Every area got one job, doubles got binned, and everything left got a spot it could actually live in.

Meet Katie. You might not see her, but you'll almost certainly speak to her.

Before a Clutter Fairy ever sets foot in your home, Katie's already been chatting things through with you. She's the one who puts your mind at ease, talks through your project and makes sure you know exactly where you're headed and what to expect.

She's not out there sorting drawers with you every day, but she's the reason everything runs so smoothly. She keeps every fairy, every project and every client on track, quietly making sure nothing gets missed.

We genuinely wouldn't function without her.

Every home we visit starts with a conversation with Katie. 🙌

You know the one. It's meant to be for keys, but somehow it's also become the official home of dead batteries, odd screws, receipts and a single earring with no partner.

We see this dish in almost every home we visit. You are not messy, you are just busy, and things like this happen when there isn't a proper home for the small stuff.

If yours has become a bit of a mystery, that's exactly the kind of thing we sort out. One session and it's a key dish again, not just random c**p.
