Today’s line-up includes St Ives Slipway IPA, Firebrand Patchwork Rocket, Hawkshead Bitter and Bluntrock Pilchub Pale, with plenty of cider alongside them.

Come down the alley, find a chair and stay for a while.

Down the alley, the barrels are flowing and the conversation is already underway.

On the pumps today: Treen’s Regatta, Lou’s Brew and Bawden Rocks - proper Cornish ales from independent breweries, served without fuss by people who know what they’re pouring.

No televisions shouting, no music competing with the room. Just good beer, familiar faces and the occasional miracle after a few pints.

Blink and you’ll walk straight past it.

Tucked away down a narrow alley, just a few steps from St Ives Harbour, lies one of the town’s best-kept secrets.

No loud music. No flashing signs. Just good conversation, proper ales, wagging tails, friendly faces and a warm welcome waiting below street level.

Whether you’re a local calling in for “just one” or a visitor lucky enough to stumble across us, there’s always a seat, a smile and a pint worth discovering.

Sometimes the best places aren’t hidden to keep people out… they’re hidden so they’re worth finding.

See you from 4pm. 🍺

Not every great pub has a front door on the high street.

Sometimes you find it down a back alley, past the barrels, beneath the old stone walls and through an unassuming doorway.

Then you step inside.

The chatter replaces the traffic. Local ales flow from the casks. Friends become regulars, strangers become drinking companions, and no one is in a hurry to leave.

That’s the Pilchard Press.

No chains. No corporate formulas. Just a proper little St Ives alehouse doing what pubs have always done best.

If you don’t know, now you know 🍺

Open from 4pm. Pull up a stool.
