We are very pleased to finally be able to share that Viki and I are taking on the tenancy of the Who’d Have Thought It Inn at St Dominick, with Jay and Zena running the pub day to day.
This one means a lot to us.
We have admired the Who’d for a long time. It is a proper country pub, full of character, history and personality, but more importantly it is clearly a pub that people really care about.
We know we are not simply taking on a building and opening the doors again. We are taking on a pub that already has its own place in the community, its own regulars, its own stories and its own way of doing things.
We want to get to know the pub, get to know the people, listen, understand what matters and then build carefully from there.
We also want to say a proper thank you to Paul and Emma, Harry and Joe for everything they have put into the pubs over the last 12 years. There are some very big shoes to fill and we know that.
A big thank you too to St Austell Brewery for working with us and trusting us with another very special pub.
There is also a lovely connection for us in the Who’d becoming a sister pub to our Edgcumbe Arms at Mount Edgcumbe
With so close by, and the wider Edgcumbe history running right through this part of , there is something that just feels right about the two pubs coming together under the same stewardship, almost like we are reconnecting history and we are very proud of that.
The Who’d is carrying on.
The doors are reopening, the lights are coming back on and this wonderful little country pub gets its next chapter.
Jay and Zena are really looking forward to getting started, Viki and I will be around too, and we are genuinely proud to have the chance to look after a pub that means so much to so many people.
We cannot wait to welcome everyone back and thakyou all for the tremendous support so far.
