Families are welcome throughout the year and facilities are available for meetings, parties etc. Keith and Ann Major have owned and run the pub since August 1990. The pub is "full of olde worlde charm with a real fire and beamed ceilings. It has a spacious restaurant offering a good range of excellent food. The bar offers a wide range of alcoholic drinks, including cask beers that rotate on a regu
lar basis and non-alcoholic” (The Good Beer Guide, 2008)
The pub plays host to both darts and pool teams, however on non match nights the dart boards and pool table are available for all patrons to use. A range of events are organised throughout the year including charity events and quizzes. On street parking is freely available. A warm welcome is offered to all at the White Lion, including families and dogs
We look forward to meeting you soon. A bit of history
The White Lion, was built in the early 1800's and was previously a farm and coaching inn. Around 1842 there was also a toll gate situated here and it is believed that it was burned during an uprising now known as the Rebecca Riots.
