It’s a special birthday for Heath today so if you happen to be in the vicinity of the cafe, I’m sure he’d love it if you popped in and sang “Happy Birthday” to him!! 🤣😂🎉🥳🎂🎁🎈🎊

In honour of the occasion, we are taking this weekend off and going to spend some time with our girls! So we will be closed on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th but back open again on Monday 7th September. Sorry for any disappointment but I’m sure you understand.

The Mermaid would absolutely not be what it is without Heath, and nor would our family, so big love to an amazing human! ❤️

Okay, we understand how nice it is to be able to eat your fish and chips right by the beach. But please understand that we cannot and will not let people consume food and drinks that have been purchased in other places at OUR tables! It’s rude, disrespectful and it sets a precedent that other people then copy! You wouldn’t take sandwiches that you’d bought from us and eat them in the fish and chip shop (and I’m sure they wouldn’t let you) so please don’t eat fish and chips at our tables! We are a bit fed up at having to deal with this - our tables are ONLY for food and drinks that you have purchased from us. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Honestly, who needs to go abroad???

Especially when, just around the corner from this gorgeous beach, is a lovely little cafe with delicious , freshly-made sandwiches, pasties, yummy cakes and ice cream, not to mention cold Cornish beers and ciders! There aren’t many places these days where you can get a pasty and a pint for less than a tenner, let alone with a view like this! Come on down …

We are normally open every day from the start of the season until the end of the season, bar the occasional day when the weather makes it impossible or pointless! So we really hate to do this but unfortunately we need to close tomorrow (Friday 5th June) and also Tuesday and Wednesday next week (9th and 10th June). Normal service will be resumed soon!

Really sorry everyone, we won’t be open tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd) or Thursday due to unforeseen family circumstances. High tides are due alongside with an easterly wind so you might not have been able to get into the cafe anyway … well, not without getting your feet wet! Hope you miss us, we’ll be back soon.
