🍻 One Last Weekend – Join Us to Say Goodbye! 🍻

Today Adrian and I would like to announce our final weekend as landlords of our beloved Rose & Crown 🌹👑

We are now in final negotiations with the brewery and can now move on safely in the knowledge, that great things are coming for our beloved, little pub, allowing us to pursue our exciting, new-chapter abroad ✈️ ☀️

To our incredible staff – thank you for your hard work, loyalty and dedication. You have been so much more than employees; you’ve been a family. Every busy service, every challenge, every laugh and every success has been made possible because of your passion and commitment. I couldn’t have asked for a better team, and I will always be humbled that you chose to be part of my team. I am so grateful to you all ♥️

To our wonderful customers – thank you for your unwavering support, kindness and loyalty. You’ve made the Rose & Crown so much more than just a pub. You’ve created a community, filled with memories, celebrations, laughter and friendship. It’s been a privilege to be part of so many special moments and we take with us the wonderful new friendships that we have made ❤️

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. The memories we’ve made together will stay with us forever, and we leave with nothing but genuine gratitude and pride.

Please , please keep supporting our two other lovely village pubs, The Queens Head and The Green Man. Hospitality needs you more than ever and you will never know the difference your contribution will make, to keep these lovely establishments alive 🥂

This isn’t an easy post to write, but like so many pubs across the country, the reality of hospitality right now is extremely tough.

Rising costs, changing habits, and the day-to-day pressures in this industry mean that we need to reduce our current opening hours.

So for now, we’ll be closing our beautiful little pub from Monday to Thursday.

This decision hasn’t come lightly. The Rose & Crown means everything to us and we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved: a place for families, regulars, walkers, and a place for life’s moments alike.

Our new opening hours are:
Friday: 4pm – 11.30pm
Saturday: 12pm – 11.30pm
Sunday: 12pm – 8.30pm

Kitchen hours remain the same:
Saturday lunch: 12pm – 2.30pm
Sunday roasts: 12pm – 5pm

Private events are not affected.

All existing bookings will go ahead as planned, and we’re still available for private hire, celebrations, and events any day of the week.

On the days we’re not open, we’d also encourage you to support our lovely neighbours; The Green Man (who’s Pizza’s truly are the best) and The Queen’s Head (beautiful homemade Asian food, made by Lou’s own talented hands). Keeping local hospitality alive matters more than ever.

We’ll be here at the weekends, the fire lit, the bar open, and our Roasts ready. If you’ve been meaning to pop by, now really is the time, we’d love to see you!

It’s the last day of January! We can hear the sighs of relief across Hertfordshire 😮‍💨

If you’re going dry beyond January or have been in the 0% Club for a while, we’ve got a lovely variety of low and no alcohol options.

Some beers deserve their own glass for the perfect pour. Leffe definitely does.

So when our chalices mysteriously vanished over Christmas, we took it as a compliment 👀

Because when something’s this smooth, golden, and easy to love, people tend to get… attached.

The chalices are back now. The beer’s pouring. Leffe is once again being served the way it should be.

Come and see what all the fuss was about… But we’re watching those glasses.

Is there much better than a proper Sunday roast in Winter? We’re here with all the trimmings, and a table you don’t have to clear away afterwards.

Not every pub makes life easy with little ones, but we love to! Did you know that apart from our kids’ menu, we also serve delicious hot chocolates, with the all important marshmallows? And every child who comes gets an activity book? 🎨

Whether it’s an after-school treat or a Sunday lunch (or even just a soft drink and some crisps like the last pic 🤩) everyone gets looked after and we try our best to make families can actually relax here.
