It’s National Recycle Week, which is celebrating its 20th year, so just a little reminder from us about how seriously we take recycling.

Since 2012 we have recycled all of our waste so that nothing goes to landfill. Your leftovers are anaerobically composted to produce renewable energy.

As the nights draw in and the leaves start to fall off the trees, it’s time to look ahead to dining-out inspiration with the launch of our autumn menu, which combines a mix of new dishes and the return of some house favourites, but most importantly, all our ingredients are sustainably and seasonally sourced.

Our popular mutton bombas dish has returned and we have a new Corsican slow-braised Lable Anglais free-range chicken dish, as well as tasty new vegetarian dish, North African spiced lamb style mince flatbread, served with raita, sweet and sour onions and garden herbs.

And don’t forget, our great value-for-money Local Set Menu is available with two courses costing £18.95 and three courses £23.95. The Local Set Menu is available between 12pm and 6.30pm every day.

I am excited to announce the return of our Great British Supper Club Series in association with Bluebell Vineyard Estates after a break of nearly three years.

We are teaming up with some of my fantastic local suppliers, including English sparkling wine provider Bluebell Vineyard Estates, Tring Brewery, Hertfordshire’s Mad Squirrel Brewery and taproom, Hammonds End Organic Farm in Harpenden and cheese expert and supplier to Raymond Blanc OBE, Eric Charriaux, to present six evenings of fantastic food, drink and chat about the amazing food that appears on our menu and its provenance. These are the perfect evenings for food lovers.

The headliner suppliers at Lussmanns St Albans are as follows:

16 February – an English Sparkling Wine evening by Bluebell Vineyard Estates in St Albans

2 March – a cheese evening by cheese expert Eric Charriaux in St Albans
