🚨 Could a coeliac treatment finally be on the way?

A new experimental drug has successfully completed a mid stage trial, reportedly helping to protect adults with coeliac disease from intestinal damage caused by gluten.

Before anyone launches themselves face first into the bread aisle, this is still being researched. It is not currently available and it does not replace a strict gluten free diet.

But it raises a BIG question…

If a treatment could protect you from accidental gluten exposure, would you take it?

Or would you still feel safer avoiding gluten completely?

Tell us below. We think this one could divide the coeliac community… 👀

The trial was reported by Reuters on 2nd September 2026.

A gluten free child shouldn’t need a packed lunch just to feel safe at school. Agree? 👀

New allergy safety guidance has been introduced for schools in England, putting greater responsibility on schools to have proper policies and procedures in place.

That matters. Because for families managing coeliac disease, school food isn’t simply about preference.

It’s trusting that ingredients have been checked.
It’s preventing cross contamination.
It’s making sure a child isn’t excluded while everyone else eats together.

Parents, what has your experience been?

Can your child safely eat their school dinners, or do you still feel that sending food from home is the only reliable option?

Let’s hear the honest answers below. 👇

TikTok has found its latest bread obsession.

Japanese milk bread. 🍞

Super soft. Fluffy. Slightly sweet. The sort of bread people pull apart on camera specifically to make the rest of us hungry.

It’s become such a UK food trend that supermarket interest has reportedly shot up too.

Which naturally leaves the gluten free community standing at the window like:

“Lovely. When’s ours coming?” 😂

So let’s play product development for the day.

If you could walk into a 100% gluten free, coeliac safe bakery and demand ONE bread product that you desperately miss…

What are you ordering?

Japanese milk bread?
Proper crusty baguette?
Brioche?
Tiger bread?
Soft white rolls?

Or something else entirely?

Tell us below. 👇

And yes, we’ll be reading the answers… 👀

If your child has coeliac disease, this one’s worth knowing. 👇

New allergy safety guidance has been introduced for schools in England.

And while coeliac disease isn’t a food allergy, this opens up a MUCH bigger conversation about how seriously dietary safety is taken in schools.

Because “just take the croutons off” isn’t a solution.

Neither is using the same serving spoon.

And neither is telling a child something is probably fine. 😬

So, parents of coeliac and gluten free children, we want to hear from you:

How confident are you that your child’s school understands gluten and cross contamination?

🟢 Completely confident
🟠 Mostly, but I still worry
🔴 Not confident at all

At The Gluten Free World, our bakery is 100% gluten free and coeliac safe because being able to eat something without having to interrogate everyone involved shouldn’t feel like a luxury.

Apparently gluten free food is more accessible now. 👀

The Government has been asked what it’s doing to help people with coeliac disease with the rising cost of gluten free food.

Its response?

It recognises the financial burden, BUT pointed out that gluten free food has become more accessible in some supermarkets and online.

And technically, gluten free bread and flour mixes can still be prescribed on the NHS in England for eligible people with diagnosed coeliac disease, although local NHS bodies can restrict or stop this.

So we need to ask…

Does “available” actually mean accessible?

Because finding one tiny loaf at nearly £4 isn’t quite the gluten free utopia we’d imagined. 😂

Apparently British gluten free food has become a tourist attraction. 😂🇬🇧

We spotted something this week that made us smile.

Someone visiting the UK asked the gluten free community which British products they should try while they’re here.

And people came armed with recommendations.

Bread. Pasta. Sausage rolls. Pork pies. Bakery bits.

Which got us thinking…

If a coeliac friend was visiting the UK and you could introduce them to ONE proper British food made gluten free, what are you choosing?

🇬🇧 Cornish pasty?

🥧 Proper pie?

🧁 Old school cake?

Sausage roll?

Cherry Bakewell?

Or are you marching them directly towards something else?

Because frankly, nobody should leave Britain thinking a tiny vacuum packed supermarket brownie represents the pinnacle of British gluten free cuisine. 😂

Your ONE choice. Go. 👇

We need to clear something up. 😂

After our last post, quite a few of you seemed to think you’d accidentally wandered onto the Greggs page.

We can confirm:

❌ We are not Greggs.
❌ Greggs has not secretly gone 100% gluten free.
❌ We’ve not nicked their social media password.

We just happen to make the sort of bakery food that makes gluten free people do a double take. 👀

Steak bakes. Sausage rolls. Pasties. Pies.

Except ours come from a 100% gluten free, coeliac safe bakery. ❤️

So we’ll absolutely take the confusion as a compliment.

Although if Greggs would like to give us a ring, we’re happy to have a little chat about their gluten free section… 😂☎️

What should we make gluten free next that you WISH you could pick up from a high street bakery? 👇
