The cake I thought my daughter wanted for her birthday party ➡️ the cake I thought she would love for her birthday ➡️ the actual cake she wanted 🍋….
There’s a funny kind of pressure that comes with being a baker and making your children’s cakes … you feel like their cake needs to be a showcase .. the perfect theme… belongs on instagram .. has all the decs … and of course the chicken cake gave her a giggle … and those K pop cakes look the part… BUT .. she wants a lemon drizzle 🍋… lemon sponge, sugary crunchy top.. NO buttercream, fondant , absolutely no jam 😅… no elaborate decorations or even a purple drizzle … a few bits you can stick in and then take out that don’t change the cake.. and that’s okay - the disco balls and stars .. this is your time 🥹… there something lovely about a simple lemon drizzle.. always tasty always a favourite … and if I had to describe Mais as a cake … it would be a lemon drizzle 🍋 light, sweet and a little sharp at the same time 😅🍋❤️
