This weekend, we open our doors for the final time.

We’d love to welcome back the friends, neighbours, regulars and familiar faces who have made The Old Lion such a special part of Harborough Magna.

Come and join us for one last meal, one last drink and one last catch-up — a chance to share a few memories and say goodbye together.

Thank you for every visit, every celebration, every conversation and every moment spent with us over the years. Your support has meant more than we can say.

An important update from The Old Lion

We recently announced that The Old Lion would be closing on 31st August. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we now need to bring that date forward.

Our final day of trading will now be Sunday 23rd August.

We appreciate that some of our customers may already have made plans to visit us during the final week of August, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment this change may cause.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported The Old Lion over the years. It has been a privilege to be part of the local community and to welcome so many of you through our doors.

We hope to see many of you between now and Sunday 23rd August for one final visit.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and continued support.

Although The Old Lion will be closing its doors on 31st August, we still have a little time left together—and we intend to make every remaining day count.

Until our final service, we’ll continue welcoming you with the same warmth, care and joy that we have always tried to bring to every meal, every drink and every visit.

We’d love to see as many familiar faces as possible over the coming weeks, whether it’s for one last meal, a quiet drink or simply to share a few more memories with us.

❤️ An Update from The Old Lion

After a wonderful journey, we've made the difficult decision that The Old Lion will close its doors on 31st August, with this being our final day of trading.

Like many businesses in hospitality, the continued rise in operating costs and taxes has made it increasingly difficult for us to continue. While it's the end of this chapter, we're incredibly proud of everything we've built together.

To everyone who has supported us since the day we opened—whether you've joined us for a meal, a drink, a celebration or simply called us your local—thank you. Your support has meant the world to us.

We'd love to welcome you over the coming weeks, so if you've been meaning to visit, we'd be delighted to see you before we close.

Although The Old Lion's story is coming to an end, ours continues. The George at Kilsby and The Courthouse will continue to welcome you, and we hope to see many familiar faces there in the future.
