☘️☘️ A Message from the Committee. ☘️☘️
Over the past few months, your committee has been working hard behind the scenes to improve our Association and continue building a club that all of us can be proud of.
Some of the improvements we've made include:
✅ Three new la**rs on draught
✅ Caffrey's now on draught
✅ Roof repairs completed
✅ Upholstery repairs throughout the club
✅ A new dart board
✅ Ongoing repairs and improvements to the front of the building
✅ Formation of a new darts team
✅ Two pool teams representing the Association
✅ Welcoming our new steward, Gráinne, who has settled in brilliantly and is doing an outstanding job
These improvements are the result of a lot of hard work by a small number of committed volunteers who care deeply about the future of our Association.
However, this isn't their club. It's our club.
The Rugby Irish Association has been an important part of our community for many years. It has provided a place for friendship, sport, conversation, celebrations and countless memories. We all benefit from it, and together we all have a responsibility to protect it, strengthen it and ensure it continues to thrive for future generations.
We believe the progress made in recent months demonstrates our commitment to leading by example. We are determined to keep moving forward, but the long-term success of the Association depends on more members becoming involved and helping to shape its future
With that in mind, we are looking to welcome new members onto the committee. While we are particularly keen to fill the role of Club Secretary, there are other committee positions available, and we would encourage any member who is interested in contributing to the future of the Association to come forward.
The Secretary is one of the most important positions within any successful club. The role is ideal for someone who is organised, reliable and able to keep multiple activities coordinated and running smoothly. Responsibilities include preparing committee meeting agendas, recording and distributing minutes, managing correspondence, maintaining official records and helping ensure the day-to-day administration of the Association is carried out efficiently and professionally.
Strong organisational and communication skills are key attributes for the role. Previous committee experience is not essential, as support will be provided and the successful candidate will receive a full outline of responsibilities.
More broadly, we're looking for people who care about this Association and want to play a part in its future. Fresh ideas, different perspectives and a willingness to get involved are exactly what help clubs like ours continue to grow and evolve.
This Association belongs to all of us. The facilities we enjoy today exist because previous generations of members gave their time and energy to build and maintain them. It is now our responsibility to continue that work, protect what we have, and create an even stronger Association for those who follow us.
