☀️ Heatwave Update ☀️

As it’s getting hotter and hotter throughout the week, it’s definitely heating up inside the restaurant and kitchen too!

While we have air conditioning in the restaurant for our guests, the temperatures in the kitchen will be reaching some very high numbers. To help keep our team safe and comfortable during the hottest days, we’ll be making a few temporary adjustments to our opening hours:

📅 Today – Open as usual from 4:30pm, with last available bookings at 7:30pm

📅 Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th – Open for bookings from 5:00pm to 7:30pm

📅 Friday – Closed for lunch, reopening from 5:00pm

📅 Saturday – Service as usual 😊

Our throwback Magic Mushroom Special has been absolutely flying out of the kitchen this week, and it’s been so lovely seeing so many of you enjoying this La Casa Loco classic once again. ❤️

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of hosting the celebration of the life of a very special member of La Casa Loco family, Avo.

Avo wasn’t just a customer. He was part of our story.

From the very beginning, Avo brought joy, laughter and music into Casa. On our opening day, he performed with his band, helping create the atmosphere and memories that have shaped who we are today. Over the years, he became a familiar face, a friend to many, and someone whose presence always brought warmth and fun to the room.

The first photographs in this collection are treasured memories from many years ago. Looking through them, you can’t help but smile. Seeing his friendship group is special too. They perfectly capture Avo’s character, his sense of humour, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him.
We would like to thank Sue and Miles for choosing us for this beautiful and heartfelt occasion. The love, laughter, stories and memories of over 120 guests shared throughout the day were a wonderful tribute Avo, his spirit filled the restaurant once again.
He will always hold a special place in the history of Casa and will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Avo ❤️

Our thoughts remain with Sue, Miles and all of Avo’s family and friends.

In just 24 hours, 70,000 people have already signed Tom Kerridge’s “VAT Is The Problem” petition and the number is continuing to grow. 🙌

The campaign is calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%, helping restaurants, cafés, pubs and other hospitality businesses keep more of what they earn to invest in staff, wages, training, improvements and their future.

This isn’t just about us. It’s about every independent café, restaurant, coffee shop, pub and hospitality venue that helps make Rugby such a fantastic place to live, work and visit. ❤️

Hospitality businesses are at the heart of our communities. They create jobs, support local suppliers, bring people together and help keep our high streets thriving. A lower VAT rate could make a real difference to businesses across the town and give Rugby an even better chance to grow and thrive.
