🎃OCTOBER’S EVENTS🎃

🗓️MONTHLY POSTERS:
We take on board all positive & negative comments, attached is the events for October. We will be implementing monthly posters which will be posted on Facebook & available in the pub to take away with you. We will also place this on the noticeboard next to the village shop. One thing we have picked up on is that not everyone in the village has Facebook, this is obviously an issue when trying to advertise to try and overcome this we will be posting our monthly poster door to door, however if you know of anyone that does not have Facebook & they’re interested in the pub & what we have to offer, could you help us out by spreading the word? We’re more than happy to make special effort to reach our community if their contact details are passed on to us.

🎳ENTERTAINMENT:
For everybody’s reference the pub already offers & has done for awhile SKY TV, TNT SPORTS, skittles table, dartboard board, cards & dominoes. We have tried to arrange leagues for darts & skittles but have had no success but we are more than happy for these to begin. We have regularly put on quiz nights & will continue to. In October, we are introducing bingo & re-doing games night which we hope will go down well.

🍽️KITCHEN/FOOD:
In relation to the kitchen/food prior to our chef leaving we had discussions about extending kitchen hours as we had picked up that people were coming in past 8pm requesting food however this wasn’t workable for our chef & is one of the reasons he chose to move on. Another factor was that he was preparing freshly made food for it to be chucked in the bin as there was little to no attendance most days. For those reasons we needed to rethink what we were doing as it wasn’t a cost-effective way of working.
On a positive note -
We’re hoping to open the kitchen again soon, but in the meantime we will be doing pizzas eat in & takeaway options. We also offer hot drink & coffee for £6.50 also soup & a roll for £6 available all day.

🔒CLOSURES:
Regarding the closures, when we opened in February the pub was quite rundown so it has needed a lot of repairs which is beyond our control. This unfortunately has taken a lot of time & effort but we have implemented better facilities for the future use. As most of you know we haven’t been making a profit at all recently, which is why the pub was closed for our holiday as we couldn’t afford to keep it closed, let alone afford it to be open. Unfortunately that is the reality of our situation. We hope that it doesn’t happen again in the future by implementing new things.
We are trying our BEST for the pub to be a success not only for us but for the village!

📝SUGGESTIONS:
We do have a suggestion box that has been on the bar for a while, we dont seem to get many suggestions in it though. There was suggestions for bingo & karaoke so we have taken it on board. Two weeks ago we had karaoke and in the coming months bingo is on. If you do have any suggestions or ideas feel free to write it down on the cards provided & pop it in the box. Alternatively you can message, email or pop in and chat with us. We’re happy to hear your ideas!

🎉GESTURE OF GOODWILL:
Our halloween party will be put on free of charge. Although we would like it to be taken into consideration that the buffet, the decorations, the entertainment & the raffle all comes with cost additional to the standard cost of running the pub which is why we originally charged £10 a ticket. With this we hope that we get the support from the village to make this a great occasion. Atmosphere can only be created with everyone working together.
