The Three Tuns, Guilden Morden

The Three Tuns, Guilden Morden Beautiful, community-owned pub in South Cambridgeshire The Three Tuns in Guilden Morden was a profitable business well used by the local community.

Sadly the brewery that owned it sold it to a speculator that had no interest in the pub trade, purely the potential development opportunity the pub and its land presented. Not prepared to allow the only eating pub in the village to be turned into housing, the local community objected to the development and made the pub 'an asset of community value.'

Thanks to local objections and community effor

t, the speculator's planning applications were eventually unsuccessful and all appeals were finally exhausted. Thanks to a dedicated group of locals and the generosity of our wider group of greater than 300 investors, The Three Tuns was successfully purchased at the end of 2018 and following a huge community effort, was renovated and re-opened in the summer of 2019.

Our new tenants, Phil and Becky, are very pleased to announce that The Three Tuns will reopen tomorrow evening, from 5.30 pm until 10.30 pm 🎉🥂🍻 for drinks only.

On Thursday 30th, the pub will be open from 5 pm until 10.30 pm, with the restaurant open from 6 pm until 9 pm. At present, restaurant bookings via email only, to: [email protected]

It’s a wrap! Over the last three months, the pub openings have been run by Jorja and Elliot with temporary landlord Mike making sure that all was well behind the scenes.

We opened on 28 evenings and were blessed with warm weather and amazing support from the local food van community. You guys do a fantastic job and your food was always delicious!

Our thanks also to Charlie Buntingford Brewery, Jack Broadway Cellars and Alex for their invaluable help in making sure the beer and wine never ran out!

Finally, a special thanks also to our loyal shareholders, supporters in the village and surrounding areas and the committee members of GMCP Ltd, who each did their bit to make the last three months such a success.

The pub is closed this weekend as Phil and Becky are moving in, but rest assured that it will be re-opening very soon so please keep checking our social media accounts for updates. We wish them all the very best in their new venture.
