It is with heavy heart that we announce that due to the impact of Covid-19, The Kitchen at St George’s is currently shut and sadly there are no immediate plans to re-open it, although we do continue to look for a new operator that we believe will work to our previous high standards. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for your continued support in the 3 years we have been open.

However the distillery is open. Tours are running (need pre-booking) and the shop and riverside walks / picnic area are both open to all.

We do recommend Breckland Lodge as an alternative venue for food; it is just 6 minutes drive up the A11, so ideally suited as an alternative venue.

In response to the call to stop the unnecessary movement of people to slow the spread of Covid-19 we have taken the very hard decision to close The English Whisky Co. to visitors, including The Kitchen at St George’s from tonight (18th March).

This includes the cancellation of all upcoming events including Tasting Tours, Mothers Day Lunch, St George’s Dinner, and our annual Easter Egg Hunt.

We will be contacting all customers that are due to visit us during this time to advise them of their options.

We will reopen when it is considered safe to do so and we will continue to post updates that we may have on our website, social media channels and through our mailshots.

Our amazing webshop will continue to operate, so please continue to support us when you can and order from www.englishwhisky.co.uk

We’re obviously devastated to be writing this, but want to thank all of our customers for your ongoing support and custom.

Please stay safe and see you all again soon.

We are still open as usual.
Here at The English Whisky Co and The Kitchen at St George's the health and safety of our customers is of utmost importance.
We continue a far stricter cleaning regime than prior to COVID-19, and we have alcohol sprays for anybody that would like to use them on whilst on site. We also continue to operate as a cashless site.
Currently we will remain open whilst we have custom and the Government allow us to.
We will still run tours 4 x a day, but will be limiting the group sizes and with immediate effect will stop taking large group bookings until further notice.
Lastly, our amazing whisky shop and webshop (www.englishwhisky.co.uk) will continue to function as normal.
Thank you for your continued custom and support in these very difficult times.

Dear Customers,

We wanted to let you know that we are open as usual.
Ensuring a safe environment for our team, customers and community is of the greatest importance to us.

We have been closely following the government & NHS guidelines and have implemented changes to the way we work in order to protect our guests and teams as much as we can, incorporating disinfecting procedures of door handles, banisters, railings, PDQ machines, touch screens and much more.

We have also been busy bottling high alcohol whisky spirit (75%vol) straight from our stills into spray bottles which is doing a wonderful job at disinfecting surfaces. This is a great product to protect us all from this virus.
Our staff are using this spray on an hourly basis on designated high traffic areas. If the supply of anti-bacterial sprays run out, we wont be affected!

We have now also stopped taking cash. If the use of cash is absolutely necessary – then arrangements can be made using sanitised gloves.

For now, rest assured in the knowledge that we are doing everything we can!

These are challenging times for people and businesses - we are hugely appreciative of the support we receive from our customers and the hard work of our team members. We do hope to see you soon - it is business as usual here.

If you are unable to visit us over the coming weeks, please do remember you can view our product range online at www.englishwhisky.co.uk.

Regards
Andrew Nelstrop
