If you’ve visited Sol over the last couple of months, you’ll have seen the roadworks surrounding the shop. Unfortunately, these have made parking increasingly difficult for both our customers and staff.
Over the last few weeks, myself and members of my team have also received multiple parking tickets, and unfortunately it simply isn’t viable for us to park at Forge Island and pay for a full day of parking every day.
We’re also facing the ongoing issue of our doors being blocked daily by vans and wagons. This has resulted in daily calls and complaints from customers who believe we are closed, despite us being open during our advertised hours.
As a small, independent business, the lack of support and the ongoing disruption are having a very real impact on Sol. We are doing everything we can to keep things running, but unfortunately the current situation is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain.
Because of this, over the next month or so we’ll be looking carefully at what the best option is for Sol moving forward. This may mean relocating outside of Rotherham, or potentially moving Sol online, where we could offer our sugar-free bakes through pre-order, delivery and collection.
This isn’t a decision we’re taking lightly, and we’ll of course keep you updated every step of the way.
