We'd like to address a question we've received regarding why a poster advertising another local cafรฉ's charity birthday event was removed from our noticeboard.
Firstly, we'd like to make it clear that we fully support the fantastic work of Andy's Man Club and the invaluable service they provide to our community. In fact, we were proud to host the group free of charge at The Centre for almost 7 years. It was wonderful to see it grow to such an extent that it eventually outgrew our premises and moved to a larger venue โ something we're incredibly pleased to have been part of.
The decision to remove the poster was not about the charity it was supporting. Not only does The Centre operate its own cafรฉ, we have a longstanding policy of not displaying promotional material for other cafรฉs or businesses that directly compete with services we provide. This helps us remain fair and consistent with all local businesses. Due to the amount of adverts we receive, it would not be conceivable to display them all, therefore the decision was made to only display community interest sessions including health and wellbeing sessions, hearing aid clinics and groups who hire The Centre which are for the benefit of the people of Brinsworth.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to support both The Centre and the many worthwhile causes and businesses across our village.
