No Spring Honey 😔😔

I know this isn't the news many of you were hoping to hear.
Although we're enjoying some lovely weather now, and we did have a hot spell a few weeks ago, overall our bees have had a difficult Spring. We got off to a promising start, with the colonies bringing in nectar and building up their honey stores.
Unfortunately, this was followed by a prolonged period of cold, wet and windy weather, coinciding with the peak flowering of the Hawthorn and R**e Seed flower.
Unable to forage for long periods, the bees had to rely on the honey they had already collected to feed themselves and their growing brood. As a result, much of the Spring honey they produced was consumed by the colonies rather than stored as surplus.
We have harvested a small amount of honey, but sadly not enough to offer for sale.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for a good Summer flow and hoping our August harvest will make up for what has been a disappointing Spring season.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and understanding.

If you enjoy learning about our bees and would like to be one of the first to know when our Summer honey is ready, please do follow the Micklebring Honey page.

When will this year’s honey be ready? 🍯

We’ve been getting lots of lovely messages asking when our 2026 honey will be available, so here’s a little update for you all!

Right now, we’re busy adding “super” boxes to the hives—these are the frames where our hardworking bees will store their honey. 🐝
The warm, sunny weather has been perfect for the bees, although a little rain would help the flowers produce even more nectar for them to collect.

If all goes well, our Spring Honey should be ready around the beginning of June.

As always, our wonderful Facebook followers will get the first opportunity to buy before it goes on general sale—so make sure you’re following our page: Micklebring Honey to stay updated!

Thank you so much for your continued support 💛
