A little update for tomorrow (Thursday) 🌿

We’ll be open as usual, but due to being one chef down and short staffed, we’ll be running a very limited lunch menu, and unfortunately we won’t be serving breakfast.

We’ll still have plenty of delicious homemade cakes, great coffee, cold drinks and a selection of light lunches available, so we’d love to see you if you’re popping by for a catch-up or a relaxing break in the countryside.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support – it really does mean the world to our small family business. 💚

Sometimes I wonder if people really know what we are.

We’re not a chain café. We’re not polished, fancy or trying to be the next big coffee shop.

We’re a family-run flower farm with a rustic café at its heart.

Much of what we serve is homemade. Some of our ingredients are grown right here on the nursery. Our cakes are baked with care, our breakfasts are cooked to order, and you’ll often find flowers being arranged for weddings just a few metres away.

When you visit, you’re not just stopping for a coffee. You’re supporting a small family business, local growers, flower workshops, wildlife, and a place we’ve poured our hearts into creating.

Could everything be perfect? Probably not. We’re always learning and improving. But what you’ll always find is a warm welcome, honest homemade food, beautiful surroundings and somewhere to slow down for a while.

If you’ve never visited us before, we’d love to welcome you. And if you’re one of our regulars, thank you. Every coffee, every breakfast and every slice of cake genuinely helps keep this special little place going. ❤️

We will be open today at least until 1pm, hopefully longer if you are hoping to come this afternoon please just call and we can update you.
Unfortunately being a lovely well insulated metal barn it heats up like an oven! I managed to break a sweat just doing emails on Wednesday 😎
We have shade outside which is cooler than inside!

With temperatures expected to reach the high 30s again today, we’ve made the decision to keep the café closed.

Our barn is wonderfully cosy for most of the year, but during extreme heat it becomes incredibly hot inside, making it uncomfortable for both our team and our customers. Yesterday was exceptionally quiet, so we’ve decided it’s the sensible choice to close today rather than ask our staff to work in those conditions.

Blossom’s school has also closed because of the heat, so she’ll be spending the day at home with me too. 💛

Thank you so much for your understanding. We’ll be back open as soon as the temperatures return to something a little kinder!

Please stay safe, keep cool and look after yourselves (and your four-legged friends!) in this heat. 🌿☀️

Just a note to say we will be closing today at 1pm it’s very quiet and just too hot in the kitchen!
Back open Friday as normal and hopefully a bit cooler!!

Just a little note to say we will not be doing hot food over the next couple of days as it’s already hot enough in the kitchen!
Unfortunately the barn is very well insulated (great in the winter) and of course we are not very used to such high temperatures!
If tomorrow ends up being unbearable we will close early for the staff as it can be tricky to keep cool while running around!
