End of school for the kids and we treated them to one of their absolute favourite places in Ross on Wye which is Seven Seas Fish Bar & Restaurant.

When I first met my wife we'd often grab food from here and head down to the river to enjoy it. Nearly 12 years later we are still doing exactly that but with three kids in tow!

The team at Seven Seas were working in furnace conditions but this did not compromise the quality of food or the service. Every last bit was scoffed, leaving us properly fueled up ready for a game of football.

Today I was able to grab a nice lunch and it cost me £0 to park my car.

Back in April, Herefordshire Council brought in free 30 minutes parking in their car parks and recently I've been making use of it. I parked up, didn't pay a penny to park, and was able to visit the brilliant team at Truffles Cafe and spend £16 as a 'special' lunch for the two of us.

If we wind back a few months, I probably wouldn't have driven into town for a quick bite and instead I'd be eating instant noodles for lunch!

I know many people say 30 minutes isn't enough time. If you want a slow, leisurely walk around the shops then this obviously won't work for you. But for people like me who work from home and only have a few minutes to spare in the middle of the day, it worked great and I was pleased to be able to give my money to a local business rather than a parking meter.

Our town has so much heart. If you haven't made use of the 30 minutes, definitely give it a go and show our local businesses, both food and non-food, some love. ❤️
