⚠️ Community Awareness Notice ⚠️

We would like to make local businesses and the wider Rochester community aware of an incident that occurred at Limehouse Thai Restaurant, Rochester, on the evening of 25 June 2026 (yesterday).

A family of five dined at our restaurant after making a telephone booking under the name Margaret.

The group consisted of an adult male, an adult female, an older boy, a young girl and a toddler in a pushchair.

Towards the end of their meal, the older boy asked for the bill. Around the same time, the adult male ordered an additional half-pint of beer. This would have been the fifth half-pint ordered for the table.

As the adult male appeared to be showing signs of intoxication, our staff refused to serve any further alcohol in accordance with our licensing responsibilities.

Following this, the adult male became aggressive and stated that he would not pay unless he was served another beer.

The bill was presented to the table but was not paid. Shortly afterwards, the adult female left the restaurant with the young girl and the toddler in the pushchair. A few minutes later, the adult male and the older boy also left the restaurant without making payment and ran towards Chatham.

Later that evening, we contacted the booking number in an attempt to resolve the matter and request payment. Unfortunately, the male who answered the phone was verbally abusive and ended the call.

The incident has now been reported to Kent Police, and we have provided the booking details, CCTV footage, CCTV still images, the unpaid bill and witness information.

For identification purposes only, the family appeared to speak to each other in a language other than English and appeared to have non-British accents.

We are sharing this post to help make other local businesses aware and to prevent similar incidents happening elsewhere.

If you recognise the adults shown in the CCTV images, or if your business has experienced a similar incident, please contact Kent Police directly.

We kindly ask everyone not to post abusive comments or speculate about the family, especially as children were present. Please allow the police to deal with the matter appropriately.
