📢 Visitor Information: Upcoming Building Closures & Access Changes

Please be aware of the following temporary closures and access restrictions due to private wedding events and event set-up:

Wednesday 26 & Thursday 27 August: The car park will be unavailable due to the summer cinema setup.

Friday 28 August: The building will be busier than usual throughout the afternoon while event set-up takes place. The Large Exchange, Old Council Chamber and Welcome Gallery will be closed for a wedding from 2pm

Saturday 29 August from 12 noon: The Large Exchange, Old Council Chamber, Welcome Gallery and Great Hall will be closed for a wedding.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Town Hall. 🩵

The excitement is building!

We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors dressed in spectacular costumes as Rochdale Town Hall becomes the home of creativity, imagination and Victorian-inspired fun during Heritage Open Days on Saturday 19 September.

Whether you’re taking part or simply coming along to admire the incredible outfits, you’re in for a fantastic day. Plus, we’ll be running three free guided tours throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to discover the history, architecture and hidden stories of this magnificent building.

Petrus: Slope Stories is now on at Broadfield Park Slopes, and it's completely free to visit. 🥳

Created through workshops with Petrus service users and volunteers, this outdoor exhibition shares personal memories, experiences and connections to the Slopes. From childhood adventures counting Church Steps to stories of friendship, resilience and overcoming homelessness, the artworks bring the history of this special place to life.

The exhibition forms part of the Broadfield Park Slopes Restoration Project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and draws inspiration from archive images and materials from Rochdale Local Studies.
