🎯 DARTS LEAGUE IS HERE! 🎯

Dust off your arrows, the Black Lion darts league kicks off on Friday 16th October at 7pm and runs right through to Friday 18th December.

Here's what's up for grabs:

🌱 From plan to plot – our community veg garden and greenhouse are here! 🌱

When we first sat down to write the plan for the Black Lion, a community growing space was one of the ideas we were most excited about. Today we're proud to say it's no longer just words on a page – it's real, it's growing, and it belongs to all of us.

The new veg garden and greenhouse are a place for anyone in Skelton-on-Ure to get their hands in the soil, swap tips, grow something good, and enjoy a bit of fresh air and good company along the way. 🥕🍅🥬

None of this would have happened without some brilliant people:

💚 A huge thank you to David, our chair, who has played an enormous part in making this happen – from securing the funding to rolling up his sleeves for the construction itself. David, we can't thank you enough!

💚 And a massive thank you to Pub is The Hub and Horticap for making our fantastic storage box. It's a cracking piece of work and we're so grateful for your support.

Dust off your general knowledge: Thursday is quiz night at the Black Lion, kicking off at 7pm.

Between 26th July and 18th August 2022, we asked you one simple question: do we want a pub back in Skelton-on-Ure?

You didn't just answer – you shouted it from the rooftops! 📣

📋 151 households took part, from Skelton-on-Ure, Marton le Moor, Langthorpe, Boroughbridge and beyond
⭐ 85% said having a village pub is important or very important to them
🙌 96% said they or their household would use it

That's the thing about the Black Lion – it isn't just a pub. It's a place for EVERYONE. Families and dog walkers, young and old, darts players and quiz fanatics, those popping in for a coffee and those staying for a pint. Quiz Night Every Thursday: Come and join just a short drive from Ripon & Boroughbridge! 🧠🍻

Quiz nights were part of village life at the Black Lion long before it closed 6 years ago, with teams turning out for a friendly, competitive evening. Now they're back every Thursday, and you're invited.
