A H***Y TONK ON NORTH STREET

November 13th we are celebrating a year of 83 North Street being under the stewardship of . From Storehouse Kitchen to SHK Smokehouse & Bar it has been a helluva year ❤️

To celebrate we are laying fully into the new vibe and bringing you the super talented & entertaining Bryan Watson & his bassist. The first band we have had.

Expect a night of classic & modern country covers, a couple of originals (he might even take requests) plenty of low "n" slow BBQ and a bar pourin' the best drinks.

Dinner served 5PM -7.45PM (kitchen closing early so i can have a pint or two)
Bar open 5PM - 11PM (last orders)
Music from 8(ish)

As ever, no pressure to eat you are more than welcome to join us in the bar for drinks & tunes. Just bring great vibes and we will provide the rest 👌🙏

ANOTHER WEEK ON NORTH STREET

Thank you to all who visited us this weekend 🙏

Live music was a blast on Friday, a Saturday that was full of great people and good vibes and a Sunday that was like the good old days. Brunch is back! Sundays only for now...

As ever we don't take your support and choosing us to spend your hard earned with for granted. Thank you for keeping this dream alive ❤️

BROTHERLY LOVE 2.0 🙌🏼

What a fantastic night; happy customers full of smokehouse favs and great cocktails, plus some great live music from - thank you so much!

We had a full house and it was such a great vibe this evening. We’ve another packed night tomorrow with plenty of race goers so that could be a rowdy one!

Open from 12 through to around 10pm tomorrow and plenty of space earlier in the day, tomorrow night however is pretty much full.

What a start to a great weekend 🙌🏼

SMOKESHOW SUNDAYS - BRUNCHIN' & ROASTIN'

So Sundays. We have had a string of bad luck, events & other complications that have effected our Sundays a little bit. But fingers crossed the unexpected will leave us alone for a little while now and we can show you our new improved Sunday offering (Alongside our Smokehouse menu & lunch dishes)

Brunch - Is back. I assure you from experience the Chicken Pancakes are the perfect hangover cure. A dish that has lead to multiple brunch awards in a past life 🐣

French Toast - A banger with that US diner feel.

Roasts - I may be a wannabe cowboy but I am a Yorkshire lad at heart and besides Spaghetti Bolognese night as a kid, this was the meal I looked forward to all week. After (usually) getting battered playing football for Taddy or a sore body from another bog average rugby performance we would descend at Big Sal's house for a class Sunday dinner. So this is the feel we want to recreate. Hearty portions, proper beef, big ole Yorkies and time shared with loved ones.

THE BUMPY ROAD TO WHERE WE ARE 😬

Things seem to be popping off a bit on social media and we’re buzzing for a bit of increased visibility. Though I’m having a great time making all the reels with happy bartenders, smiley owners and some questionable dance moves in there, the truth is - the road to where we are now has been bumpy as hell! 😅

Can’t even remember what I was crying about but it could have been:

- the constant leak in the ceiling over our busiest time of year
- the fire right behind the restaurant
- the fact we’ve lost money more months than we’ve made it
- trying to replace a part on a toilet which ended up being a new toilet, new floor and decorating everything

Or maybe it was just someone posted a picture of the slightly rusty hand dryer (that I’ll get to when there’s a pound or two in the bank) and it sent me over the edge 😂😂 the list goes on!

Throughout everything we’ve stayed as positive as we can and welcome our customers with a smile, no matter what’s going on behind the scenes and we still love our little restaurant ❤️
