The Cosy Stove Coffee House is looking for a Cafe Chef to join our friendly, family-run team.

We're looking for someone who can work independently and confidently manage the kitchen, preparing and serving fresh, homemade food to a high standard. The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and able to thrive during busy service periods while maintaining excellent food hygiene and presentation.

📅 Wednesday – Sunday
🌙 No evening shifts
🏡 One full weekend off each month or two separate weekend days off
💷 Competitive pay, based on experience

What we're looking for:

🍳 Experience preparing breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes
👨‍🍳 Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen
🧼 Strong food hygiene and health & safety knowledge
📦 Experience with stock control and minimising waste
⏰ Reliable, punctual and well-organised
😊 Friendly, positive attitude and team spirit

🍽️ Our full menu is available until 2:30pm, followed by coffee, cake, and treats until 7:30pm – eat in or takeaway.

🍕 Skinny Guys Pizza will be with us from 5pm–8pm serving their delicious homemade pizzas, perfect for dinner!

To help keep the room clean, safe, and comfortable for all children, we kindly ask that there are no shoes, food, or drinks in the baby room.

Don't worry—you can still enjoy your coffee and treats from one of the tables just outside the room, while keeping a watchful eye on your little ones as they play. ☕👶

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.
