Last June, we were honoured to host the very special wedding of Mr and Mrs Pollard.

To celebrate their one year anniversary, they came back to stay at The CB Inn to reminisce, with Mrs Pollard saying ‘there’s no other place they would want to wake up’ on their one year anniversary.

Thank you to the happy couple for sharing a little piece of their love story with us.

We love that The CB Inn holds such a special place in so many people’s hearts. ❤️🥹

"England's only truly spectacular road." – Jeremy Clarkson 🚗🧈

We have to agree with him on this one! This Buttertubs Pass loop is one of our favourite drives, taking in the Watersplash, Surrender Bridge, Gunnerside, Muker, Hawes and the stunning views from Whitaside Moor.

According to local legend, farmers travelling to market would lower their butter into the cool depths of these natural shafts during warm weather, hence the name!

The drive takes around 1½ hours if you drive straight through, but we'd recommend allowing up to 3 hours to make the most of it. There are plenty of places to stop, explore and take in the scenery along the way.

And if all that exploring works up an appetite, The CB Inn and The Punch Bowl Inn are the perfect places to stop for a bite to eat and a well-earned brew. ☕🍴
