‼️‼️ PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END ‼️‼️

Unfortunately, due to previous problems we’ve had to hand the cafe back. Steel River Kitchen will no longer be trading (for now).

With Amy Milburn being pregnant and Karen Puckrin’s husband terminally ill with aggressive lung cancer (mesothelioma). Now just isn’t the time to carry on fighting to have the gas and electric switched back on.

Offgem have done everything they can, YGP are dragging heels, landlord needs rent (which is totally understandable). But without being able to open we have no choice but to hand the keys back.

We want to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts, for the live and support you’ve all given us. But the truth is we never really recovered from the burglary, and there’s only so many times you can max credit cards out.

We love each and everyone one of you. We WILL BE BACK, but when the time is right.

We’ve had amazing neighbours at Fade Formula and Jacabos. Continue to support local ❤️💙❤️💙.

I’m not sure what to say anymore. The energy company are adamant they want 3.5k before re installing the meter. HOWEVER removed the one thing we need to make money to pay said bill. 🤔🤔

Offgem are involved, however I’m not sure when it will be resolved.

SO THE ABSOLUTE S**T STORM CONTINUES 😭😭

Update on what is now known as the “s**t show”.

OFGEM have now taken over and are liaising with VALDA. Hopefully in the coming weeks we will BE BACK BIGGER, BETTER and STRONGER THAN EVER 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

So we have always been transparent with you guys. We are opening again, we have had a lot of personal stuff to deal with as a family.

HOWEVER

The previous cafe owners from 2021 hadn’t paid the gas bill and as you can imagine racked up a substantial amount of arrears. 😭😭

Unfortunately we have been severely shot in the s**t for it, the suppliers have sent someone out and despite showing the our tenancy agreement and them admitting the debt wasn’t ours. They demanded £2,500 to keep the meter and stop disconnection. 😱😱😱😱

So we are now just waiting for a solicitors letter to dispute this and we will be back BIGGER, BETTER AND STRONGER. We have had nothing but bad luck since the burglary 💔💔

It’s easier just to put a status on rather than reply to messages separately. PLEASE BARE WITH US ❤️💙❤️💙

We will be OPEN tomorrow Monday 8th September. 🥳🥳

BUT we will be CLOSED Thursday 11th September AND Saturday 13th September. 😭😭

This is due to being a court for the burglary back in May. We’re finally HOPEFULLY going to get some justice. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It’s been a tough few months for us mentally, we’ve struggled being in the cafe for quite some time, but we did it, however we couldn’t have gotten through this tough time without the loyal support and love you have all shown us. ❤️💙❤️💙.
