Some summers are places.☀️🍋

The Amalfi Coast, with its lemon groves and blue waters, is one of those places for me. I've never been there, but I've imagined it often.

And then there are the summers I know.

Chennai summers.☀️🥭

The kind where ceiling fans work overtime, jasmine dries before evening, and mangoes, jackfruit and watermelons arrive in abundance... So much fruit that the whole house smells sweet for days.

We never ate just one mango.

There would be whole mangoes after breakfast, lunch and dinner, fresh juices in between, sticky fingers we'd happily lick clean, and hands that stayed fragrant long after. Endless arguments about which variety was the best.

Summer wasn't a season.

It was mango season.

I think that's why this menu became what it did.

A little Amalfi dreaming.

A little Chennai nostalgia.

Scallops kissed with spice and butter.

Fresh seafood, because the sea belongs to both places.

Cold drinks to fight the heat, with a little nannari twist.

And mango for dessert, because no Tamil summer story ever ends without it.

This supper club wasn't about authenticity or perfection.

It was about memory.

About bringing together places I love, places I dream of, and the kind of hospitality I grew up with.

The Tamil kitchen taught me that feeding people isn't simply serving food.

It's never asking, "Have you eaten enough?"

It's insisting on a second serving.

It's serving until they finally say, "Enough, enough!"

It's making a little extra, just in case.

And where everyone leaves carrying a little bit of summer with them. 💙🍋🥭

In a Tamil home, hospitality isn't about fancy tables or perfect dishes.

It's about making people feel welcome, feeding them generously, and sending them home with full hearts.

That is the spirit I carry into my supper club.

A table set with love, stories exchanged between strangers who slowly become friends, and food that brings comfort long after the evening ends.

Watching everyone laugh, eat, and linger a little longer is my favourite part of hosting. Because at the end of the day, I don't just want people to remember what they ate.

I want them to remember how they felt. 💙

And if they leave with full hearts, then I know I've done something right.

Amalfi × Madras Coast 🥭
Supper Club No. 7

A little late, but here’s Part 1 of my Early Summer Supper Club. 💙🍋

Hosted in my favourite month of the year, June, this supper club was inspired by a destination that has been on my bucket list for years... the Amalfi Coast.. reimagined with a Madras Coast summer twist. 🫠✨

From scallops and paniyaram to biryani and sweet endings, every dish carried a little piece of summer, my memories, and my love for bringing people together around a table.

Thank you to everyone who joined me and made this evening so special. ❤️✨
