Dear all

It is with a heavy heart that The League of Friends have decided to NOT go ahead with the planned Christmas Concert of Readings and Carols this year.
Although we know this is a big event in which many of you look forward to on an annual basis, we feel that in the current climate, we would be being untrue to The Leagues belief of helping the NHS by holding an event which would mean we bring together a large group of people in an enclosed area.
One of our main aims and beliefs is to work with the RBH and the surrounding Reading community to help prevent admittance and help support any patients, visitors and staff who are part of Reading Hospitals. To encourage a meeting of many individuals when it is being advised that these kind of events should not go ahead would be ignorant.
This decision was not taken lightly. We had to look at the protocols that we would need to follow, the restrictions that would still be in place, and the suitability of the location.
After 2 years with no events, The League are wanting their first event back to be a fully attended and open to all occasion. And unfortunately we feel we can not deliver this in the current climate.
We really hope you understand , this is a huge blow to the League and we hope you can continue to support us. We have exciting new events coming in 2022 which we are hopeful for and we can't wait to see you all there. Thank you to all who had already helped plan the event. Hopefully next Christmas we can bring you something extra amazing!

Your sincerely,

The League of Friends.

What a wonderful woman ❤

This lovely lady here , is Joyce Goodall. Joyce is 93 this month and an enthusiastic knitter and has been knitting baby clothes for premature babies. She started knitting again in earnest, at the beginning of the first lockdown last year; and she has lived in Berkshire for 60 years now, during which time she has experienced at first hand the wonderful care that the Royal Berks provides, having received treatment over the years both for herself and family and friends. She is grateful to the hospital, staff and volunteers for all that they have done. Joyce has kindly donated lots of her knitwear to the League of Friends to say thank you and help us on our quest to support the Royal Berkshire Hospital :) So please come and see what wonderful creations Joyce has knitted for us and help to give back to the RBH

We've been chosen as part of ASDAs Green token event 💚💚

If we can ask you all to please vote for us following the below link , we would really appreciate it. You get 1 vote a week up until the 30th November.

The League have worked so hard over the past year. Keeping our units open throughout covid to help serve the busy Doctors and Nurses whilst at the same time continuing to raise funds in order to fund new equipment within the hospital.

The vote takes less that 30 seconds and would mean so much to the whole League.
