The pub's name comes from a local legend of a 'cunning man' - a good wizard who would help protect people from dark spirits and witches. The original building was destroyed following repeated flooding, however the newly re-built pub-restaurant has been impressively restored in its original style - complete with thatched roof. Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as wel

l as our seasonal spring dishes, and we'll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires. We look forward to welcoming you!
