Thames Lido is the result of a three-year sympathetic restoration project of a beautiful, historical landmark in Reading: the Edwardian Kings Meadow swimming baths, which first opened in 1902. Tucked away behind a leafy path right by the River Thames, our urban retreat is open to the public all year round. Here you will find a heated pool, hot tub and saunas, as well as massage rooms and an award-

winning restaurant which is featured in the Michelin Guide. Visitors to Thames Lido will discover we’re so much more than a pool. The full Thames Lido experience is pure self-indulgence; the perfect venue to reconnect with friends and family, or enjoy quiet, restorative time alone.

With sunset now just before 8pm, you get to enjoy the Lido at its most atmospheric a little earlier - the pool illuminated, swimmers gliding past and a drink in hand.

Squeezing every last drop out of summer ☀️

September is just around the corner, and with it comes a little seasonal shift at the Lido - some changes to the restaurant menu, the return of hot stone massages, and plenty more to look forward to.

But we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet.

For now, we’re making the most of long swims, sunny terraces and every excuse for a cocktail in the sunshine

The heatwave is back ☀️💦

If you’re looking for somewhere to cool off, you know where to find us (a 5 min walk from Reading train station)

Take a dip in our cool blue pool, unwind in our seating area, enjoy a leisurely lunch, or simply spend a few hours escaping the heat.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday evening for our final Behind the Pass supper club.

It was a pleasure to welcome Executive Chef Pash into the kitchen for a true Greek feast, celebrating generous, taverna-style cooking inspired by the Mediterranean. Long tables, shared plates, ouzo and lemonade cocktails, sunshine and great company – exactly how this food is meant to be enjoyed 🇬🇷

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special evening.

You don’t always need a plane ticket to enjoy the flavours of the Mediterranean. We’ll see you at the restaurant very soon!

Over the past week, we’ve welcomed so many of you looking to escape the heat, whether that’s with an early morning swim, an afternoon by the pool or a leisurely lunch poolside with something ice cold in hand.

Our seasonal menus are packed with vibrant, fresh ingredients that celebrate the best of summer, alongside cocktails, chilled wines and everything you need to make the most of the warmer days.

It’s officially too hot to cook.

Luckily, our chefs keep soldiering on

Can we take a moment to appreciate the team working over hot grills and ovens this week to keep everyone fed while the rest of us take a dip in the pool?

This is our new mussels flatbread: mussels, nduja and crème fraîche on our stone-baked sourdough flatbread. It’s rich, spicy, creamy and the perfect way to start a meal.

If you’re joining us for a Swim & Eat package, this can be included as your starter. For £45 per person, you’ll enjoy a swim plus one starter and one main course.

Cool off in the pool, let us do the cooking.
